They kind of robbed us of Anthony Parker making it two Raptors in the contest but I'd have preferred Jones in there instead of Parker if it meant Kobe didn't get in... that's a bit of a farce. He's a fine streak shooter but he'll likely perform no differently than did Gilbert Arenas. He needs a rhythm and sometimes even a defender for his shot to go down, no jokes. Make someone to talk trash to him while he's shooting.

I really wanted to see Pono and Parker. :(

And yeah, it's a bummer Jones isn't there, he's having an outstanding year.

Eh, I can't say I'm terribly surprised. The NBA got some big names in there.

Kobe - They'd put Kobe in the rookie-sophomore game if they could. As much as we hate him, the guy's a star and people tune in to watch stars. I think they offered him the spot and were shocked when he accepted.

Nash - He's having a great year behind the line and deserves to be in. He's also a star, 2-time MVP. The Lakers-Suns rivalry makes it all the sweeter that he'll be competing against Kobe.

Gibson - Also having a good year with the 3 ball. He's the only member from last year's Finals series to make it.

Kapono - Gotta include the best. He's also defending his title.

Peja - There can't be a 3-point competition without him. He's the Hornacek of his era.

Hamilton - I know people are complaining about Kobe, but this one baffles me a little more. He's not a marquee name, he's not known as a 3-point bomber, and he hasn't hit that many this year (48). Shooting a good percentage though.

And then there's...

Jones - A bench player on a mediocre (sorry guys, but we are) team that already has plenty of All-Star reps. He's not a big name, he hasn't played in big games, and he's not a renowned shooter... yet.

Jones SHOULD be on the team, but I can't say I'm surprised he's not.
