OK, supposing we wont pick a guard in the draft...and come summer time, Gordon and the Bulls cant agree on a new contract, whereas Miles about to announce retirement:
Miles, Sergio and 2009 1st rounder (top 10 protected) for Gordon.
That would make his starting salary at 10 million, that's what the Bulls offered him but maybe it could increase a little over the years.
Chicago would get a pure PG prospect to play next to their 3 combo guards (assuming they'll draft a bigman), and an extra 1st round pick in 2009. And of course, Miles' contract would automatically come off the books.
We'll trade Jack for a future 1st round pick, sign Rudy.
Roy/Blake
Gordon/Rudy
Webster/Outlaw/Jones
LMA/Outlaw/Frye
Oden/Frye/Przy
And we'll still have Raef coming off the books, for another deal or clearing cap space.
Sign and trade for Gordon in the summer?

that trade won't work
Gordon would become BYC. At a 10 million salarry, it works as far as portland is concerned.
But Chicago couldn't take back more then 50% of the 10 million...5 million. And the CBA allowance would be 125% of the 5 million + 100,000 or about 6.35 million.
