Just want to thank you all for showing up in the chat last night. Set a new record of about 22 people logged in at one time :D! Woo Hoo! The chat was definitely rockin' as well as the Blazers. What a great game!

Two rematches in April. Those could be big games if we can put a little run together here. Golden State is going to be a big game too. That could play a big impact in our possible chance at the playoffs(hope is not quite dead).

That's pretty sad. Anyway good game. Hopefully we'll play you guys healthy that should be fun.

That's about the most thinly veiled insult I've ever read... couldn't we say the same about Oden and us being healthy, or Roy and Jones playing at full strength? Guy needs to stop making excuses. Typical...

You know, I don't care much for our announcers, they just don't do it for me, but it seems pretty sad just HOW MUCH Laker fans are whining about the announcers. Almost as if the announcers somehow cost them the game is how bad it sounds.

As for the being healthy, we all look forward to that as well. Having Brandon and Jones at full strength, as well as Oden back will be a much bigger difference maker than just Bynum being back. Bynum has been pretty good this year, don't get me wrong, but making the assumption that him and Oden just cancel eachother out, then a fully healthy Roy and Jones gives us an even bigger lead. And, hopefully we don't have to play 8-5 next time.

actually the Lakers are missing Ariza and Radmanovic as well as Bynum. Radmonovic is a 3 pt threat and Ariza is very athletic and would matchup well against outlaw.

Don't even get started with the healthy card. Bynum was missing, so was Oden. We'll see next year when the Blazers have Oden and Fernandez and Lakers will hopefully have all their guys ready as well.

I don't know why some people can't just say it was a well played game.

Laker fan here,

Congrats on the game. I actually am grateful that Blazers won the game. In the last 3 or 4 games or so, our guys were getting too comfortable on their winning streak. Countless of times I have seen our 10+ leads withered away because they themselves were expecting to win and therefore getting lazy on D and standing around shooting jumpers. And they played the same way last night, and it has caught up with them. I hope this reinforces and instills a correct championship mentality and attitude that they dont have enough of.

So from a fan of the number 8) team in the western conference, congrats on the win.

what would jack bauer do? wrote:Good win by your team tonight. Roy is already the 2nd best sg in the league, he's got the complete package unlike Wade. Your color analysts have to be the biggest whiners next to Boston's though. Never heard that much whining in one game from announcers. You guys are going to be elite next year.

You won't hear an argument from me on that.

Jack must have been hearing the criticism by fans, and accepted the challenge to improve. It's good to see a guy step up.

Went to the game last night, and it was a crazy atmosphere like usual for Blazer/Laker games.

Miles was actually out shooting around before the game. He never jumped more than an inch off the ground. His shot is there, but still looks heavy. It just seems that if he was as ready to go as he says he'd try tearing it up. I would have expected an assistant coach out there guarding him (which Bayno was on Webster and Wafer before the game). I would have expected him jab stepping at least. Instead there was none of that. He stood about 14 feet from the hoop and took jumpers and that was it. I know that it's probably unfair to make a sweeping judgment on a 15 minute shoot around--but he looks done to me.

Fans from both sides seemed rather rowdy. I had a guy next to me that was drunk when he sat down but seemed nice. Swore up a storm the whole night but oh well. Had a Laker fan behind us that that had to say "Uh oh! UH OH!" everytime Kobe had the ball or was checking back in. So as the Lakers started falling behind late I took some delight in yelling "UH OH! UH OH!" It was all in fun for the most part though.

As to the game itself I thought Portland did a great job from start to finish in showing their poise. They were getting hammered early and honestly the only reason they were able to cut that lead early was that LA was missing some wide open shots.

Roy, Aldridge, Travis and Jack were studs tonight. I think Jack would be so much better if he could just catch the ball at the 3 point line and do his work from there rather than trying to take it full court. Oh well.

I have to say, there were some pretty funny calls. I particularly liked the gift at the end of the game where Odom was clearly trying to foul but got a jump ball instead. Jack sure got the best of him on that jump.

The lead singer from Red Hot Chili Peppers was there, as was Jackie Joyner Kersey, Eric Millegan from Bones, I think Flea from RHCP was there as well. Cirque De Solei (sp?) performed at half which was kind of a kick.

Maybe one of the funniest moments was the "Fan of the game" or whatever. They showed this guy who had just won tons of Blazer swag on the screen and they were saying over the speakers (which you could barely hear) that he was winning stuff. They showed him for a good thirty seconds and he was really into the game screaming "BEAT LA! BEAT LA!" Just as they flashed under the picture his section and seat number with the title "Winner of the Fan of the game" or whatever, he turns, sees the camera for seemingly the first time and flips the bird with both hands--clear as day. The crowd sort of went into a temporary hush and the camera moved off him after about 3 seconds. The camera bounced around for about 2-3 more frames trying to find fans that weren't reacting in kind (most were making the "Rock on" finger sign, but there were a few in the next 2-3 shots that were flipping the bird back).

In all, it felt like a crazy atmosphere. And best of all, the Laker fans that couldn't help but talk uber kilo-tons of crap on the Max, outside the garden, had to finally shut up--at least somewhat. There were plenty of courteous Laker fans at the game though, and it sucks for a few loud (and mostly drunk) few to kind of cast a shadow on them. But hey, that's fandome for ya!

You guys ain't winning a championship so forget about championship mentality because the Lakers suck. Your PG sucks and your bench sucks too.
