But it's hard to believe that the league could do something about that if the endorsement contract was structured carefully.
I would assume that Nike has a division in Spain. And Rudy is a rockstar there. Having a line of shoes/clothing for the Spanish market that Rudy endorses makes good business sense. How could the NBA legitimately make a case against good business?
Didn't the new President of the Trailblazers come directly from Nike?...
$2 million is a miniscule amount of money in relationship to Nike's total advertising budget. And, it could be a wise investment considering Rudy's proven star power in Spain. Rudy's name can sell just as many shoes in Spain regardless which country he plays in but the only way to tap into the US market is by establishing a name presents in the US. Stern might get irritated if he is suspicious but realistically he would need written proof of shenanigans to assert an objection.

I think the PG we will be targeting is Conley Jr..Oden and Conley just have to much history for Pritchard not to accomodate the two...
Also on the Rudy topic, He just better not end up being another Sabonis...Last thing we need is to get the best player outside the NBA 3 years after his prime again..
