Hmm, it would be great if Sonics buy that BS.

I live up here, D. I've seen Collison play probably 25 games this year and as many in the last couple of years. If you think he is better or more valuable than Przy then I think you're completely lost.

I think we're looking at this wrong. It won't help much to just tack on another rebounder.

First, would we really want this player to take minutes from the starters? Somebody like Nick Collison* might be a better rebounder than Aldridge, but he's not a better all-around player and the team would still be better with Aldridge on the floor. Collison wouldn't help our rebounding if he's sitting on the bench. It's not hard to find players who can grab boards, but it is hard to find all-around players who are as good as Aldridge or Oden.

We could add a rebounder as a backup, but our backups aren't the problem. This season, Przybilla and Frye are the team's two best rebounders. The team rebounding will improve when they move to the bench. I'm surprised anyone would suggest that getting rid of Frye would improve the team's rebounding.

If the Blazers are really set on addressing their rebounding problems through player movement, they should look for upgrades at Small Forward and Point Guard. It would be nice to have a rebounding 3. Even more important, the perimeter players need to be better at sealing their men.

Part of the problem is that the Blazers don't have the right personnel, but most of the problem can be corrected by coaching and player development. The coaching staff really needs to work with individual players on their technique. Aldridge in particular has all the tools, as his success on the offensive glass demonstrates. He just needs to put in some practice with the assistant coaches. Or maybe we need new assistant coaches.

Another issue might be on the team strategy side of coaching. Are the Blazers often out of position? Are the right guys going for the boards? Does the defensive zone need to be modified? I haven't seen enough Blazer games and probably don't know enough about the game of basketball to know if there's a problem here.

Oh, and Outlaw isn't good enough on the boards to be playing the 4. Give Frye his time there, move Travis to the 3, and the team rebounding would probably improve by a few percent. That move would create other problems, but whatever.

One of the most underrated players in the league, but he still can't hold a candle to LaMarcus. Why take away his minutes? Or even Frye's, for that matter? And I have to disagree with Dewald that he's worth more than Joel. Not in trade value or in value to the Blazers. Also, Collison is more of an offensive rebounder, which isn't as much of a need for the Blazers.

I agree which is why I believe the Blazers would be a lot better rebounding team with Collison. Collison isn't that much better rebounder than Joel is but he is a much better all around player. Collison doesn't have an exploitable weakness like Joel does. Therefore, if we had Collsion rather than Joel, Nate could play Collison more than 20 minutes per game. And, next season Collison could challenge for 20 minutes even with Oden on the team while Joel will sit at the end of the bench and never play. So, Collison is straight up a better player who would improve the team

Funny, I think about Nick Collison on this team almost every day.

Curious, would you trade the pick for David Lee?
