O-Live Article on Rudy

nothing completely new...just an article praising Rudy's ability. And it leaves some doubt that Rudy will be a blazer next season.

Very nice article. Let's hope KP can work some of his magic magic with Rudy and get him overseas to play for the Blazers. The kid is definitely looking pretty amazing!

Good read.

Personally my gut feeling is that he will
be a Blazer next season. Rudy will go
out in style playing for Spain & going
for a medal then join the Blazers.. .

But much of that might depend on
Pritchards visit over in Spain.. .

It's easy to get caught up in the alarmist reporting that inevitably comes along with situations like Rudy's. But the article Quick wrote back before Christmas made me feel pretty confident he'll be here. This section was most telling:

I have no concerns that Fernandez will come to the Blazers next season, especially after talking to Blazers point guard Sergio Rodriguez. Since he was 13, Rodriguez has known and played against Fernandez in Spain, including on the Spanish national team that won the World title two years ago. The two have become close friends.

"We talk, and we chat in e-mail a lot,'' Rodriguez said. "This summer (while the two played on Spain's national team), he asked me every possible question about the Trail Blazers and the NBA. He doesn't care about the money, he wants to play in the NBA. He told me it is his dream to play in the NBA. He wants to come as soon as possible.''

Also, Fernandez' older sister, Marta, is in America, on the West Coast, playing for the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA.
