It's not like he was being a ZBo at any point in time . He's still learning to read and pass out of the double and to find the right man, but he's always looked to see if a pass was available. A lot of the times also we'd also pass around the perimeter for a 3 after it had gone inside. As long as he's looking for the option he'll be fine. The threat of being able to pass the ball can be just as valuable as passing the ball.

I hadn't noticed the actual stat, but in the last game I noticed that guys are figuring out how to play off of him much better. Blake was doing a great job of making himself open after getting the ball to Aldridge.

Aldridge also has been doing a terrific job of being patient. Not comparing games or anything, but Aldridge is playing a lot like Shaq did for most of his career. He'll take the ball, and hold onto it to see how the defense reacts. If a double comes he kicks out. If not he clears out and makes his move. Seems pretty simple, but it seems to be opening up a lot of options for him and his teammates.

That is a giant key right there!! If you notice great players
take their time & get to spots where they want to go. They
dont force things. Roy has got that down pretty much, he
had it coming into the NBA. I think LMA is now learning it.

If he keeps this up, he should, but I don't know if he will, the West is too much.

My guess is it's two things.

1. Aldridge is getting the ball early in the shot clock with his back to the basket more often (without cutting into his opportunities to catch and shoot on the pick-and-roll).

2. Aldridge is waiting for double teams to come to him and then passing (or turning it over or forcing up a shot, as the case may be) instead of anticipating a double team and getting rid of it too soon.

Neither of these observations is backed up by fact, they are just "seems to me" thoughts...

Another solid night for LA, but the 2 total rebounds is sad. He's gotta focus more on defensive rebounding instead of running up in hopes of fast breaks. We won the rebound battle tonight so it didn't matter much, but for a guy that is as long and athletic as Aldridge is, two rebounds is pathetic.
