Be in KP's shoes
Well, the lottery order and the draft's talent pool aren't here yet, but I though it would be nice to post several scenarios and comment on them.
Remember, your'e starting with a 14 man roster (current minus Wafer), and hold the 13th pick plus three 2nd round picks. Jones is almost certainly opting out, Rudy and Miles are an optional addition/substraction.
Mine is:
Trade Jack and our lowest 2nd round pick for a late 1st round pick, draft Lester Hudson; with the 13th pick, draft Batum; with our highest 2nd round pick, draft the best banger available - Hendrix would be ideal; with the middle 2nd round pick, draft an international center prospect like Jawai, Erden or Asik.
Batum and the international center will be kept overseas; Hudson fills in for Jack's spot, and Hendrix makes it a full roster.
If Miles retires, bring in Rudy. If not, let Jones walk away (unless he doesn't get any offer and we can keep him for next to nothing, whereas Rudy gets a major offer and stays in europe).
With the former scenario, our roster will be:
Blake/Sergio/Hudson
Roy/Rudy
Webster/Outlaw/Miles, Jones or a FA on a 1-year deal
LMA/Frye/Hendrix/McBob
Oden/Przy/Raef
Hudson would battle the spaniards for backcourt PT off the bench. Hendrix might push Frye out of the rotation, since he could be a better fit alongside LMA. Przy could be traded for an expiring if Oden is doing OK throughout the 1st half of the season. Webster will need to prove himself as our future SF, or else we'll renounce his rights and make a push for a better SF, maybe bring in Batum if he's having a stellar season in europe.
I know it deosn't sound like an exciting draft or summer, but there would be the next one to look forward to. And I think next season should be another maturing season. With the playoff battles on the west, we'll have a hard time getting in there and I'll be content with just fighting for a playoff spot, to the last game. Let's give guys like Sergio and Webster one last chance, before we'll go shopping.

I'm not gonna lie I know little to nothing about hudson but why would You use a lottery pick on someone that will be 3rd string? Also Batum is a projected lottery pick fyi although anything it's possible he does slide so who knows.
My ideal scenario is we trade blake/jack/frye to philly for andre miller and a 2nd rounder. Than package our 2 highest 2nd rounders to get a late first and trade the 26th say (phx) and our 13th pick plus our other 2nd rounders to get the 9th pick and take a pg (plz mayo). Than we bring over rudy/miles retires/jones resigns 4 years 13.5 mil (yes all big hopes of us all) than our depth chart is:
Miller/Pg/Sergio
Roy/Rudy
Webster/Jones
Aldridge/Outlaw/McBob
Oden/Przybilla

You got it mixed up, it's Batum with the lottery pick, Hudson with the late 1st round pick. From what I've read about him, I think he could be the best combo guard for us in this draft, with a mixture of good D, playmaking ans scoring skills, and a deadly 3-point shooter.
Also, I cant see Philly trading Miller after they haven't done so this year for cap space. He's turned them into a playoff team.

I'm gonna get plowed at the draft party again. Go to my cousin's wedding. Learn Spanish. Play a lot of tennis. Maybe buy a house. It's gonna be a great summer.

My real plan is to Talk New Jersey into a deal for Harris. I'm thinking Outlaw, Jack and #13. Get Rudy over here, resign Jones. Depth chart...
c- Oden, Przybilla
pf- Aldridge, Frye
sf- Webster, Jones
sg- Roy, Rudy
pg- Harris, Blake, Sergio
c- Oden, Przybilla
pf- Aldridge, Frye
sf- Webster, Jones
sg- Roy, Rudy
pg- Harris, Blake, Sergio

I love the idea of getting Harris, but it is going to take more than that. Maybe if the Blazers helped them get rid of Carter by taking back a bad contract for LaFrentz and added future draft picks or Rudy to Outlaw and Jack. It would also likely need to be a three way deal, as the Nets need size. Harris has been inconsistent for them, but has turned in some sparkling games, so I doubt they move him without getting a lot back.
Of course, if they jumped up to #2 or #3, they might be willing to move Harris and pick a PG.

Here is my unconventional offseason:
Portland trades:
LaFrentz
Frye
Sergio
#13
Chicago trades:
Hinrich
Tyrus Thomas
Buy low, Sell High.
Hinrich is coming off a bad year and has a substantial contract. But he is a tough competitor, with a career 38% 3pt%. He is a solid defender, a young vet and has playoff experience. I think he is due to bounce back. And while he is 27, he has good size and is mainly a shooter. Those types tend to have long careers, so he can be around a long time.
Tyrus Thomas needs a change and I think the Bulls are tired of him. My view is unconventional, but I suspect he might be able to play SF. He played there some for the Bulls and reportedly his defense was decent. He is listed at 215, so he is really more of a SFs size. He could provide some of the rebounding that LMA is lacking. And LMA could use his outside shot to open up the lane for Thomas to post up other SFs. And i think Thomas would be awesome as a cutter when LMA or Oden posts up. And of course, he could be a backup PF. I see him in a similar role as AK47 plays for Utah. There is a lot of risk that Thomas really has rocks for brains and can't accept the role. But I think there is a lot of upside, and he is also available for a reasonable cost.
For Chicago, I think Frye is a nice fit as he gives them some additional offense a PF. He could play backup to Gooden or with him. They get out of Hinrich's contract. Gorden can start alonside Hughes. They can use the #13 to pick up another young player.

I also am a little confused by all the love for Hudson. Yes, he puts up huge numbers, but he does it on a crap team in a crap conference. And have you seen how many times he shoots per game?! Maybe if he led his team to a few wins over Joe Bob Tech and Weedwacker State I'd be convinced that he can contribute on the NBA level.
Anyway, back to topic. I'd really like to see the Blazers make a run at Arenas or Ben Gordon via a S&T. For this post let's shoot for the stars and go for Arenas. Package the #13 and the 2nd rounders plus Raef plus some combo of Jack, Webster, Outlaw and/or Frye. For this post let's say that package would be Webster and Jack. Then the stars align and Rudy comes over. And resign Jones. Miles retires or is cut. And we fill out the roster with Koponen and/or Freeland.
Arenas

Jones

Oden

Blake
Fernandez
Outlaw
Frye
Przybilla

Rodriguez
McRoberts
Koponen
Freeland

The only way we'll have any sort of shot at Arenas this summer is if he demands to be S&T'd to Portland. Outside of that happening, there's no package we could put together (outside of our big 3) that'll bring him here.
Now if he didn't opt out and become a FA in 09, then things would be a bit different.
Also, FWIW, we couldn't trade our pick to Washington for Arenas since he's a FA.
