Mike Rice: Prophet?

Post#1 » by Wizenheimer » Thu Mar 20, 2008 2:17 am

during last night's game, Mike Rice, after hearing about Houston's loss, said he thought they'd probably lose the next 3.

Well, they're down big to NO in the 4th.

yikes!....is mikey nba's nostradamus?

will houston follow 22 straight wins with 4 straight losses?

Mike Rice comes up with alot of that kind of stuff. Anybody that doesn't like him is way too serious. He is right more of the time than not, or at least believes he is! He also thinks James Jones will be a blazer for a long time....hope he's right on that one! Gotta love it.

Thinking the Rockets might start losing games when they hit an extremely tough part of their schedule is hardly jumping out on a limb. I personally have warmed up to Rice but he says so many ridiculous things its almost when he makes sense your shocked and impressed.

If it related to the Trail Blazers, the team he supposedly loves, I might care. Maybe a little. But commenting on a team he is just a little aware of and I'm suspecting rarely watches is just lame.

His comment is up there with Minnesota's announcer Paul Allen declaring that he wouldn't have drafted Greg Oden had he known there was a chance of knee surgery.

I love Mike Rice. His homerisim is one of the things that keeps me watching the Blazers on CSN despite my hatred of how they've denied the majority of the Blazer loving community.

My best friend in the world, who's a HUGE Blazer fan, has become so dis-associated with the Blazers that if I didn't watch the schedule and tell them when the Blazers where on channel 8 or national TV they wouldn't know when they could see their beloved Blazers.

But what do I care. I can see every game from the comfort of my own home.

Mike Rise has little to NO insider knowledge when it comes to the Rockets and their future schedule. Him declaring that Houston is going to go on a slide is just ridiculous. It has nothing to do with our team.

He, like most NBA announcers is probably just another hater. His team isn't doing well so he's going to dis another team. Not new. Not special. Not valid.

It was predictable. Houston had a very easy schedule (for the most part) and now they're actually facing some stiff competition. I expected them to lose at least one or two of the games in their current stretch myself.

Were you drunk when you wrote this? I mean seriously... Talk about hating... Some of the people on this board really need to just step back from the Blazers a bit, take a deep breath, collect themselves, and try to enjoy life a little. Wow....

I am going to also say that your friend, Mr. ebott, can't really call themself a HUGE Blazer fan if they're not paying attention to their games. I grew up without any cable at all and was lucky to see a game on the local NBC or Fox affiliate. I spent most of my time listening to games on the radio. I'll still turn on the radio if I am in the car away from home and there's a game on. I'd probably be peeved if I had Sat and couldn't watch the games that are on CSN, but it wouldn't prevent me from tuning in, at least every now & then for some old fashioned radio broadcasts. ;/

+1

I was in 5th or 6th grade when I really started getting into the blazers and we didnt have cable. Unless I was lucky to watch a weekend game on NBC I was listening to every game on the radio in the dining room doing my homework. You can't call yourself a fan and take no effort to support/ watch the team.

PS: Rice is a drunken assclown but thats why I enjoy him is because he says stupid crap that I don't have to take seriously.
