Thoughts on Outlaw, Webster and Jack's development
So.... it took 4 years for Outlaw and 3 years for Webster to develop into legitimate NBA players. (EDIT) Outlaw a Whitsit pick and Webster/Jack being Patterson/Nash pick. It obvious to me that Outlaw and Martell have a future in this league. The odd one out is Jarret Jack, to me he has reached a plateau and we have seen the best that he can offer. If Jack isn't gone next season, than I really got to wonder what the Portland Management see in him, because I don't see it in games.

To me, its a question of value. Not just a question of how valuable these players are to the Blazers, but how valuable they are to other teams. Yes, Outlaw might have a bright future, but to me that means other teams might value him as well.
If another team offered the Blazers a good trade involving Jack and Outlaw, I think the Blazers need to consider all ideas in order to improve their team.

kind of a misleading thread title considering the poll options
Jack is despised by most people here, and you're one who shares that view. This poll is just another venue for expressing that same sentiment which is expressed here constantly in numerous threads.

I think Jack's also proved that he's a player in this league. He's going to have a long career. I'm just hoping it's not here.
As the NBA has a long tradition of point guards taking a while to "get it" I wouldn't be all that surprised if Jack can improve to the point where he's considered a good starter. But I kind of doubt it.
I'd rather trade him in a package for a proven point guard than keep him around and hope he improves. My current pipe dream is Jack, Outlaw and other trade able assets to New Jersey for Devin Harris.
But if we do keep him it's not exactly the end of the world. He does have useful skills and he has won us a number of games this season.

I'll take 1 or 2. I think on a different team Jack may be able to help out, especially on a team that doesn't have very good or aggressive offense. Our offense is not bad, but definitely could be improved. I think it will improve with our defense once Oden gets up and running along with, hopefully, Rudy coming over.
I think a lot of people see listening & learning with Webster & Outlaw, which is hard to see with Jack. Jack still makes the same mistakes he made last year. True the same can be said for Outlaw & Webster - neither are perfect, but you can tell there's a visual improvement & I wouldn't say there's a cap. It seems as though Jack doesn't have much room to grow. He is the most consistent, unfortunately that consistency is in showing his weaknesses. While Webster & Jack are streaky(red hot, then ice cold), Jack appears to be continually mediocre with some peaks & valleys.
Yes it appears to be another Jack thread bash. I think Jack does have some value. I would be willing to take almost anyone in return. I hope KP can find a good package and I definitely like Jack's heart for the game, just not the way he expresses it on the court.

I have pulled my hair out every time I see jack leave the bench, this of course leaves me looking like Yul Brynner.
That being said he does have value and will play for a while in the nba, but please not here. He isn't the best running the break yet makes more turnovers than anyone. He can beat people off the dribble, but he doesnt kick the ball out very well and of course, again, makes a ton of turnovers.
We will be trading multiple players this year and will be an excellent complementary piece to make a deal happen
