Just a quick question about Jack.

Post#1 » by Sports Arsenal » Tue Apr 1, 2008 10:43 pm

Hey Guys...
First off HUGE Props on the turn around you guys have made, Im very thankful for the entertainment this team will be providing all NBA fans in the very near future.

Just curious, I know Jack is pretty expendable for you all, and Id love to see him in a Rox uni, so what would it take?

Head+a future second?
Brooks+ a future second?

Thanks guys...

We really don't have any use for Luther Head in Portland. He just isn't that big of a help over what we already get with Jack. Plus, with Rudy coming over next season, there really just wouldn't be any playing time for him.

Brooks on the other hand... I'd consider a Jack for Brooks swap for sure. Would the Rockets throw in their 1st rounder if we threw them some 2nd rounders?

I would give you Jack for nothing, he's a detriment to the development of the team... :|

Edit: But I hope your GM doesn't see it that way and gives us something nice in return. :)

I concur. Something like Jack for Brooks and a 2009 1st rounder would be perfect.

Haha.. .Sounds like something I would post,
but I probably wouldnt use the word detriment.
That word is to fancy for me to use in a post!!

I think Jack would do a whole lot better on a
different team for one main reason and that
would be Nate. I believe Nate is to lax on Jack
which doesnt help Jack get better. Jack has a
lot of talent but isnt going to get better here.. .
Im a big believer in giving young guys lots of
mins, but if the young guy keeps making the
same mistakes after many games & the coach
seems to act like hes doing fine and keeps giving
him a ton of mins then nothing will change.. .

I think Brooks + our 09 second is as far as it would go... Your virtually getting an 07-08 first + 09 second for him and that is ample value for him

I wouldn't be against that deal. I liked Brooks at Oregon and he has some nice aspects that he can bring to an NBA team like the Blazers. Brooks packaged with the 09' first seems like fair compensation for Jack.

He said an 09 2nd Rounder.

I agree though, I'd like to see the Blazers get a 1st round pick out of Jack, even if it's a really low one like the Rockets.

I would prefer that the 2nd round be a couple of years away. Our roster is so full.

Return to Portland Trail Blazers
