LaMarcus Aldridge was voted in as the 5rd greatest Blazer. Here is the list so far.
Who will be voted in as the 6th greatest Blazer ever? It still seems pretty wide open, which might be the way things are as we continue, with less differentiating players than those at the very top.
How to participate:
1. Vote among the polled players for the player you feel has had the best career as a Blazer.
2. Nominate an unlisted player to join the pool of players eligible to be voted in the next thread.
3. Feel free to argue your case for the players you are voting for and nominating, but do not use this as a platform to belittle the opinions of others.
You are welcome to participate in any and all of these ways. Above all else, have fun!

Spoiler:
Polls will be remain for 48 hours. Ties will be broken by votes in previous rounds, and failing that, total Win Shares with the team.
Do not consider the careers of players while they were playing for other teams. For example, we're not evaluating LaMarcus Aldridge for his entire career, just for his career with the Blazers.
Do not consider any non-playing roles some former players have had with Portland after their tenure as players. So don't consider Maurice Lucas for his role as a big man coach, just what he brought to the team while he was a player.
This spreadsheet may be a useful resource - it contains information about all 330 Blazer players, including statistics from the regular season and playoffs, all-star appearances and other awards, and MVP vote shares.
Here is a link to the overall 2015 project, which contains links to each of the chosen players.
I voted for Rasheed. He's the only player left on the list that was our best player on a successful team. He is literally the last man standing. Porter was a very good player but there is no way we could have had success with him as our best player.
Voted Otto Porter. Never played for the Blazers, but he averaged like 13 points a game on some bad teams so why not?
In before Jim Paxson and Jim Pullman get nominated. Never could remember which is which. The Duckworth hate/disrespect on this board is borderline disrespectful. Hope everyone is surrendering their Dairy Queen memorable glasses.
Because love can burn like a cigarette. And leave you left with nothing. Leave you left with nothing.

There’s no Duckworth hate or disrespect, we love Duck! But there’s a lot of good Blazers. I’d personally have him on this list over Buck Williams and probably CJ and Sabonis, but he’s definitely coming.
Went Sheed last time going for Sheed again, pretty telling how good he was when he picked up so many technicals he leads the league by a large margin but despite that teams still valued him.

Rasheed is a perfect example of the difference between intelligence and emotional control. He really played an intelligent game.
Larry Steele by all means is worthy of a nomination but I’d have to agree he’s not top 10 but honestly are there really that many guys in between 12-15 that were more important to this franchise than Larry Steele?
Yes. Just look at 1 season, the championship season. There was easily 7 better players on that team than Larry. I would say there was 8 better players because I count Lloyd Neal as a better player. Hollins was solidly the 3rd best player on that team and he hasn't been nominated yet. Larry was a pretty good basketball player, but there was nothing he did before or after the championship season that was all that important. I think if we are going to list the best Blazers players, the criteria should have more to do with basketball than how nice a person we perceive they were.
I remember the championship team. Lionel Hollins had a similar path to Maurice Lucas, a guy who was good when Walton was good but come 78-9, neither player did anything much for they traded Luke + 2 FRP for Calvin Natt.
Lloyd Neal was also a great guy and solid player but had a short career plagued by knee problems.
Larry was the glue player on that championship. Think of him as the Manu Ginobli for the 70's teams for he didn't need to score to contribute with Walton, Lucas and Hollins on that 76-7 team. Played nine seasons, all with Portland diving on the floor for loose balls with a solid 3 point shot in an era where the 3 point shot wasn't used much.
After Porter, Sheed and the others ger named as greatest players, guys like Larry Steele will be named as the 13-15th greatest players. Give me Steele over the Rod Strickland's of the world. I do have a weakness for the solid pros each needs to have too win for I include Steele, Natt, Mychal Thompson, Andre Miller, Pryzbilla, Aminu in a large group and one of those guys needs to be the 13-15th Blazer

No need to diss Rod, Rod was great as a Blazer. He's still the best player to never make an all-star team IMO.
