I agree with d-train's Western Conference list, except I would swap Denver and Portland. I have no say about the Eastern Conference.

Both the Warriors and Rockets lack bigs and depth with bigs. Given the way they play, that's a natural outcome of their priorities.
Neither inspires ANY confidence in me. The Western Conference is what I keep track of the most .So, I have much less confidence regarding the East.

Hard to predict where the Blazers fit in, due to the reasons I stated on the Wins thread, but I'll take a wild swing:

Pelicans are dangerous because they have capable players and a great coach. Spurs are of course a proven good team with proven good players.

It's a thankless task to predict playoff seeding order, especially if the team makes any moves at
the trade deadline. Too many variables for if the Pelicans get Zion back and he plays 60+ games
they will be a playoff team and nobody knows how well Russ and James play together.

I'm not even bothering with putting out a prediction. I've just got zero feel for how this season will play out. At least with most seasons there's a few teams you can pencil in a few spots - this year... F if I know.

Some just general thoughts on the west....

*OKC - dare I say - doesn't really have a terrible roster this year. Well... lemme rephrase that. They don't have a terrible starting unit. That starting 5 is decently solid looking. Their bench meanwhile is some hot trash. That being said, they'll still be fighting tooth and nail to hope for an 8th seed and any injury to a starter (highly likely with CP3 and Gallo) will have them in full tank mode. That said, when healthly - they'll give teams fits.

*I think Phoenix may actually be a pretty scrappy team. I think Oubre Jr will have a breakout year with them and Rubio will finally give that team a stabilizing guard to run the offense.

*Dallas will also be a problem team. They'll be a bubble playoff team if they stay healthy. The Doncic/Porz duo is already proving to be as scary as advertised... but the rest of the supporting cast there is pretty awful. Their third best player behind those two is either Seth Curry or Courtney Lee. Woof.

*I'm also going to be a contrarian here, but I'm not fully buying the hype on Utah yet. *runs for cover*
