Link please! I enjoyed your in depth analysis, but would like more details.
Seems like a while before we have to worry about who his agent is. I know Anthony Davis forced his way out of NOP while under contract, but:
1) Nurk, as much as I love him, is NOT Anthony Davis.
2) Davis had 1 year left on his contract. Nurk has 3 years left.

It's pre-season and people probably don't feel it's a really noteworthy topic.

Re: Nurkic to sign with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports
I just find Nurkic as a huge piece to the championship run that the Blazers are trying to go for this year, and his lack of timeline for a return as strange. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the injury he sustained, was horrifying to see, but really wasn't that bad; clean break with no collateral damage to soft tissue. Broken bones heal in 4-6 weeks, we saw him walking during the playoffs without crutches (which was months ago), and the last I heard from N.O. said he expected a Nurkic return around February (which months away). Nurkic has been seen on the court shooting around, sounds mentally fine stating that injuries are part of sport and he has put the injury behind him. He's also said that his weight is near where it should be. And now the switch in agents... just strange to me.
With Nurkic's return slated for late Jan or early Feb. (per Olshey), and anyone that received new contracts can be traded by then, plus we're all in for a championship run this year, and Aldridge saying a while back that he'd like to maybe come back, and Rich Paul being the agent for James, AD and Nurkic, and my love for a good conspiracy theory, I'll make my prediction now....
Three way trade around Jan 15th:
Blazers trade: Nurkic / CJ / Gasol (or) Trent
Lakers trade: Green / Cousins (or) Howard
Spurs trade: Aldridge
Blazers get: Aldridge / Green / Cousins (or) Howard
Lakers get: Nurkic
Spurs get: CJ / Gasol (or) Trent
Dame / Simon
Baze / Green
Hood / Mario
Collins / Skal
Aldridge / Whiteside

Why are the Blazers trading the two best players in that trade and getting back three inferior ones?

Nurk probably feels like he got a poor contract and switched agents because of it. If so, I can’t say I blame him.

what we know, nurk likes portland, blazers, oregon, our fans, dame etc, nothing similar should ever happen, but then again, its the money, he really is underpaid and has every right to be unhappy (if he is)
that being said, he will look great in the la lakers jersey, imagine nurk & davis together on the same team wow

That's one of the grossest trade ideas that I have ever seen.
I hate Clutch, but I trust Nurkic and believe that he is truly happy here. Honestly, when his deal expires he does deserve a tremendous raise. He is a 20M player, maybe worth even more. So lets revisit this in a few years.

Nurkic's injury was almost exactly the same as Paul George's. It took PG 8 months to return, and when he did, he was grossly out of shape and his game looked like crap, and he only played 6 games averaging 15 minutes. It was at the end of the season and he said himself, iirc, that he came back too quickly and should have waited till the next season...that would have been 14 months
and Nurkic is 60-70 pounds heavier than PG13. That's a factor that is not going to speed up the process; just the opposite
Nurkic has played 3 season with Portland. And two of those seasons have ended early as he has suffered late season broken legs. And, the season before he came to Portland, he missed the first 2 months of the season because of surgery to repair a torn patella tendon 8 months earlier. He then missed 17 more games that season because of other 'minor' injuries
this is not an encouraging history, especially not for any Blazer fans with a memory. The worst thing Portland could do is rush Nurkic back. February and the all-star break has always seemed a realistic target date, but it may be that whenever Nurkic comes back, he'll be a shell of what he was before the injury for at least a month or two. We might not see the 'old' Nurkic till next season

Re: Nurkic to sign with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports
Let's see how the team is doing in February before an early return of Nurkic is considered. If the
team is doing well, they can think about a mid season trade but if they are under .500 in a very
tough western conference, their best choice might be to do nothing to get team finances in order.

Oh please. Missed nearly an entire season, lol. Antony Davis played 1850 minutes. Nurk played 1974 minutes. Did Nurk also miss nearly the entire season????
Davis was healthy and wanted to play. NOP was not going to make the playoffs, decided to go all in on tanking (which ended up working out great for them) and CHOSE to sit Davis. If NOP had been competing for HCA, like POR was, you can bet Anthony Davis would have played huge minutes, much more than Nurk. It was the organization's decision to first put him on a minute restriction and then sit him entirely and it worked out great for them.
So yeah, if Nurk, through Rich Paul, wants to try to force his way out of POR, which I highly doubt, as long as we end up with the first and fourth picks in the draft, a bunch of young players and a slew of future 1st round picks I'm all for it. I love Nurk and hope he finishes his career here, but it's not like Davis/Paul actually screwed NOP. They are in a much better position now than if they had decided to actually play Davis after the all star break and won a few more games.

Are you trying to win an award for worst trade proposal in the board's history? I can't even discuss that...
As for Nurk. Don't see what the issue is with him signing with a new agent or why we should be concerned. He's under contract for 3 more years, so why even think about it now.
About his injury....I don't know anything about his projected return date of February, but do you think he would delaying his return for some sort of dubious reason? Not sure where you would get that idea, every indication seems to be that he loves playing for Portland. There would be no point for him to sit out longer than necessary.

Not real serious about this one Norm. More of an attempt to start some discussion, while we wait for the season to start. Though bringing back LA12 will be a constant thought for me, I admit, that's easily my worst yet. I don't even like it.

I've heard Nurkic may not be healing as well as expected. That was a few weeks ago and I have not heard anything since. I think he comes back this season, but it may be later in the season.

Probably Lillard's idea because he spent a lot of time with Lebron and his agent this summer.

This could mean he plays hardball for a big contract. He really got a raw deal, but he played so poorly vs New Orleans.
