is there any reason we wouldn't bring Moses in from his 2-way? Unless he is just too raw to help?

Who are your forwards? Hood, Bazemore and Hezonja are more of SGs.

At full strength, having Nurkic and Whiteside should be able to mask your guard heavy line-up. But without those two, it’s gonna be a problem.

Specially when the top 2 teams in the league have Kawhi, PG and LeBron.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Brown can't help. Tolliver is doing a respectable job at a role that was never anticipated. We won't find a better player without paying a significant price.

It wouldn't be shocking except that Sixers looked like a terrible team while beating us.

I've found it interesting in yesterday's game, Trent Jr got a couple of minutes in the first half but Little
got zero minutes in the first six games of the season. That usually implies the guy is no further along
than Hoard and Brown.

Portland's actually been more or less injury free these past couple of seasons but we're now back to the
days where we'll be losing games due to guys not knowing defensive assignments which is to be
expected for only Dame/CJ have played together prior to this season. It'll be interesting to see how
NO handles this season for if Nurk is indeed out until February-March, we're not going to see that
long rumored trade that puts Portland over the top for Portland will use their expiring contracts to
get their league high team payroll under control. Long term, I'd expect Portland to allow Zach to become
a RFA next summer but lets hope they find a way to get that front court upgrade they've badly needed
since Batum was traded for I still remember that pre-season game against the Suns and marveled how
they had five front court players (Bridges, Johnson, Oubre, Saric and that night Kaminsky) that could
start for Portland.

With how much this team values Collins and Simons I would be blown away to see us lose either one of them. Our cap situation while bad is not as bad as some teams, I would see this team trading CJ for peanuts before we lose any of our youth. **** both Baze and Whiteside come off the books as of this year so if we really value cap space and saving money we just let them expire, it won't make the team better probably but just pointing out that is an option.

Now trading our youth in a win now move perhaps like if let's say Griffin was the trade target and we give up one of Collins/Simons and some 1st round picks and an expiring contract or something that may happen. I am not sure if management is on board with that move yet though they might wait a year or two to see how things play out but just as a hypothetical possibility.

Also your supposed league high payroll ends after this year anyways assuming this team does nothing and lets Whiteside+Baze walk out the door.

I think it may be too early still to make changes to this roster, as we're only 6 games in, but you never know. Maybe Olshey has a good feel already, but I agree with Mono that Collins and especially Simons are more untouchable than CJ at this point. I think moving CJ to an eastern conference team, makes him an All-Star nod, and possibly the star of a franchise. If we can get K Love for him, I'd be stoked. I guess I could also stomach Griffen, but I really don't like his injury history, and mostly dependence on his athleticism that surely is in decline. Furthermore, I remain very suspicious about Nurkic. If we could turn Nurkic, CJ and spare parts, into Love, Danny Green and Dwight Howard, I'd be all for it. If we could snatch an Elfrid Payton in the mix, I'd likely lose my ****.

.... or maybe we're standing pat because Durrant will be coming next year

Has nothing to with this game but I’m amazed to read on the Heat board how pleased they are with Meyers and how it’s a no brainer to extend him. While Aminu has been nothing special with Orlando, I’m happy Meyers is doing well. Harkless is the same inconsistent player he’s always been

Meanwhile Meyers has been playing so far for Miami like he had not changed an NBA team this offseason but rather was freed of Taliban captivity.

Quite weird sign frankly.

every year in Portland he seemed to have an incredible 5-10 game stretch where everything was clicking for him. Then he'd regress. Maybe he just started this season with a hot streak. We'll see where he is by the new year. It's entirely possible that Stotts forced him into a role that limited his game a little.

and it's just a great relief to not see him in a Blazer uniform after 7 long years.

Why are Sixers fans coming here with aggressive pro-sixers opinions?

Anyway, hopefully they all can get heathy, and Embiid can keep himself from getting suspended so we can find out.

I think since Meyers started doing his summer workouts with trainers he has been getting steadily better. I would have liked to have him on the team this year, but Whiteside was clearly a defensive and post offense upgrade which was needed. I could see Meyers being a valuable player on a good team in his later career years. His style of play could age well.

I was bored and lurking and being annoying. Sorry.

Y'all have a really good team anyways. Simons is going to be a star, Dame is a horse. And your bench players are really good. Wish we had a Hood or even a Baze that could come off the bench.

Healthy Portland is probably solidly a top 3 seed in the West. Goodluck the rest of the year.

I can't remember the last time we had this many opposing teams fans on this forum after 1 game, **** even during the playoffs I don't recall seeing this many opposing teams fans.

Also the only reason Blazer fans bring up our C's is that the Sixers game plan was pretty **** simple drive into the paint and try to make something happen. With Nurkic and Whiteside inside that becomes a more challenging notion, when our starting C is Tolliver that becomes a MUCH easier notion **** Nurkic is one of the best defenders in the paint in the entire NBA.

I don't remember a time Por and Phi have played where Nurkic and Embiid were both playing. I would enjoy seeing both teams at full strength play. Respect to your team as well.

Skal was looking pretty dominant going against Average Al and KOQ lol.

What's the plan for Little this year? G League bound?

I assume Little will go to the G league eventually but with our injuries this year who knows.
