Clifford Robinson passed away

19-year NBA vet James “Buddha” Edwards has announced on Instagram the passing of 18-year NBA vet Cliff Robinson.

Robinson, a former NBA All-Star and UConn alum, became a huge advocate for the legalization of cannabis and was an entrepreneur within that space.

RIP Uncle Cliffy. One of my favorite Blazers of all time.

I actually got to meet him back in 2011, when I was flying back from NYC to Portland. One other passenger and I recognized him at the gate and got to spend 10 minutes chatting with him while we were all in line to board our flight. I was starstruck meeting one of my childhood heroes and he just seemed happy to know that Blazer fans still thought of him as a celebrity.
