I'm going to watch and hope to see that Blazer WOJ Bomb, that likely ain't coming. Olshey with the rinse and repeat with players, trading for nothing special, and believing Chauncey will fix everything... I fear we're screwed.

i think chauncey will be an easy fire if things go wrong due to the “allegations” if he doesn’t perform extra well. But my big hope is that same axe falls on olshey too

Coaches rarely get fired a year into a 4 year guaranteed contract. Most coaches fired have only 1 year left for the organization to swallow.

Chad Buchanan is very underrated. I would take him over Olshey 11/10. Got us the 6th pick for washed Gerald Wallace, and took Dame. Legendary.

Boring. Couldn’t we have at least traded CJ Elleby for a 2nd?

I think I just willed a trade for a 2nd into existence.

I'm sure Olshey sees Elleby as a big future piece, maybe our PGOTF, paired with Simons. Won't give him up cheap. He's gonna win the All-Star skills challenge next year... you just wait and see.

Well, better than nothing. Hopefully he can contribute in a few years after Dame leaves.

“Brown’s draft stock has taken a hit after a subpar showing at the combine, and the appeal of his athletic gifts has taken a backseat to concerns about his feel, and the fact he’s not especially close to contributing in the NBA. He still deserves to be drafted, and the success of players in his mold like Jerami Grant and Derrick Jones—both of whom were late bloomers—leaves room for optimism. He has potential to be a competent shooter, and his tools are hard to find. But Brown may require multiple years in the G League before getting a real cup of coffee in the NBA.

Apparently Portland gave up a future second round pick + cash for the draft rights to Brown.

Was a 5* recruit out of HS and looks to be a solid athlete. At least he's not a 6-3 guard

What did we give up for Greg Brown, a 9pt/6reb/1blk in 20mpg Texas Freshman? Not much to choose from as far as tradable assets for the Blazers... errr, just saw they announced the pick is for a future 2nd and cash.

Olshey's really gonna kill it now... more big moves to come :nonono:

I like the pick. Could be something if he gets it together. Good size for a forward and great athleticism it seems.

Taking a shot on an athlete, there worse bets to take in the second round. With his athletic gifts he literally just has to hustle and work hard and he will eventually find a role - whether he will do that or not is to be seen but it's all in his hands. But yeah the second round is all about long shots anyways so swing big because why not

I think Greg Brown is going to be a good player. Preferred Nawlins kept him.

I think everyone needs to be a bit clearer on their frustrations.

Olshey not making a big move to appease Dame <- Perfectly reasonable thing to be frustrated about.

Blazers trading a future 2nd in likely a weaker draft to take a flyer on a prospect in Greg Brown <- Perfectly understandable move. Brown is likely a late 1st round pick in most drafts, and the team is weak when it comes to young talent. Wieskamp went earlier than expected, and there really wasn't any other late prospects I was high on. The team has done well in the past with their 2nd round picks, so I see no reason to knock this move in isolation. Brown has the potential to be the next DJJ.

Didn't DJJ spend the year being overpaid racking up DNP-CDs?

Brown had some issues at Texas and apparently did not show well at the NBA skills camp which might
have tanked his draft stock. The Texas 247 board thought his attitude sucked for there were large
expectations when he enrolled and were not unhappy he declared for the draft. He's likely the
classic HS kid who did not want to go to school but did not get any offers to sign with the G league.

Judging by his size/weight, he perhaps could be the next Travis Outlaw but he's got to show he really
wants to be in the league. Guys like Outlaw/Jerome Kersey with similar size/weight were very hard
workers in both the weight room and on/off the court.

Nice pick imo but very unimpressive draft day, was hoping we would see a cj trade but i’m doubting that happens now even now that dame is getting irritated
