If the medical staff gives the OK... what do people think of Mbakwe?
Could he be this years Blair/Faried as an undersized but athletic, rebounding PF?

Re: 2013 Draft/Prospect Thread.
Chad Ford on ESPN Insider has his "secret" GM ratings of the 2013 prospects. Take this
for what it's worth with ratings
1) Oladipo 85 high rating of 9 Low rating 7 draft range 2-5
2) Noel 82.5 10-4 1-4
3) McLemore 81.7 10-7 2-7
4) Bennett 81.5 9-6 1-7
5) Porter 80 10-6 1-6
6) Len 77.5 9-4 1-6
7) CJ 75 9-6 5-14
8) Zeller 73.3 9-6 4-12
9) Burke 73.1 9-5 6-14
10) MCW 69.2 9-3 5-14
11) Schroeder 66.7 9-5 13-23
12) Adams 66.2 8-4 10-19
12) KCP 66.2 8-4 9-15
14 Olynik 64.2 8-5 11-23
15 Larkin 63.3 9-3 14-21
Other names include
19) Greek player 60 9-3 12-17
21) Shabazz 59.2 7-4 13-19
26 Dieng 55.8 8-3 16-28
28 Muscala 53.3 7-3 20-35
29 Ledo 54.2 8-2 24-35
30 Mitchell 50.8 7-2 24-35
31 Withey 50 7-3
36 Gobert 48.3 7-2
Whether you agree with these "ratings" or not, it does seem like after you get out
of the top 5 picks, there are many opinions as to the merits of everyone else. The
players with the least amount of variances seem to the "safer" picks. Adams by the
way is regarded as not a superstar but has strong workouts and combine testings
and KCP is downgraded by some as putting up stats on a bad team.

The player who won't go No. 1, or anywhere near it, and yet could be the next Amare Stoudemire or Paul Pierce, as in the player everyone wonders three years from now why he wasn't taken earlier? Hard to get a consensus, but based on the conversations I've had with various scouts and GMs, Pitt's Steven Adams seems to be the top candidate. He is raw, particularly offensively, but his size, work ethic, athleticism and personality, placed in the right system, could produce a monster. Then again, I've seen young bigs with the tools to be dominant for a decade (Michael Olowokandi is the first who comes to mind) and the curse of going to the wrong team, where they were surrounded by the wrong teammates and wrong circumstances has derailed them. This draft, more than most, seems to be one where the right fit and right mentors could go a long way toward determining which teams end up looking like they made the right choice.

I could see Adams being one of those guys, yeah. He hasn't had much development in his teenage years. He's like one of those really enticing picks you want but then maybe down the line you're like "...I don't think this was a good idea." I don't see him being the same kind of pick like Drummond was - Drummond's abilities were never questioned, only his motor. He never should have dropped as far as he did.

I very much agree with this. Especially about the top prospects.

This is not true at all, it was because of how raw and unproductive he was at UCONN.

Seems we could easily add a 1st rounder for Papa. Now this gives us a lot more prospects combos. Big men that might fall like Dieng or Tony Mitchell or Gobert. Shooters like Crabbe and Hardway Jr.

Scott Howard-Cooper @SHowardCooper 23 Jun Rise of Steven Adams continues. A team told me they rated him the 7th-best prospect, now he has a Mon workout in SAC, the team with No. 7.

Seems like a very reasonable and realistic mock. Assuming no trades I would think it would happen very similar to that. I will be very interested to see how many trades there are and how they shake up the draft

I like it, this could still be a draft of surprises but I think almost all of the guys you have in the Top 10 will stay there. I like the Adams pick and hope we keep him.

anyone else have the feeling this is the calm before the storm and there will be a lot of activity, perhaps beginning tomorrow with a wild Thursday?

Ok guys, if we draft Adams and keep him and then bring in a vet big to start, then do we keep Meyers as well? if we trade Mayers what kind of value would he have?

I would say we keep Meyers. He's good at spacing the floor, I think we could run a twin towers often enough to get everyone minutes.

Why not keep Meyers? Size is almost always beneficial to have and at least on offense I see no problem with having a big who can shoot if we also have a big who can score down low(if each can do both even better). A 3 man rotation of LMA, Adams and Meyers Leonard would give us depth and at a cheap price as 2 of them would be on rookie deals. The vet big would likely be a short termer who would be only brought in to allow Leonard and Adams to develop and could be traded mid season as well( I believe a signed fa can be traded after Dec 15th)

and the plus side to developing Meyers along with Adams is both "hopefully" pan out and increase their value, part of the asset gathering process

I still think Meyers is an intriguing player, everyone seems so down on him for whatever reason. If he can refine his game and develop a couple of solid post moves he should be a good player.

Re: 2013 Draft/Prospect Thread.
Shem.....thanks for posting that video. A couple of things stood out for it being brief. KCP has a nice stroke, McCollum seems to get good balance off the dribble, screen or any other shot he takes and Gobert is really long. Only a tidbit of Adams but he was diving on the floor and saving a ball off a defender.....like his work ethic.
On the other side, Kelly Olynyk seems like he could barely dunk at times and seems very slow.
