Re: Playoff game 4 rd 1 Portland vs Lakers
Just woke up, check the score. Really wish i hadn't... I'm not surprised, we suck at defense after all. But dang man, 80 points to the Lakers at the half? Crazy. I hope we actually get wing defense in the off-season, and maybe a change in coaching that can actually make adjustments on defense

I think you may be right. After another embarrassing game today, and one more to come... why would Whiteside and Melo want to return?

Lillard & Nurk are my keepers. That's it.

I’m thinking if we had a bench this series would be competitive. It’s starting to look like ZCo is an injury bust, he’s never healthy

I’m pretty much there as well. I like a lot of players on the team, but I think Portland needs to make some serious moves if they want to compete during Lillard’s prime.

Often it may be legitimate, but it's not regarding the first half. I guess he could have taken a swing at a ref, or do a full Bobby Knight. But don't pretend that he was remotely mute during this half regarding the officiating. The Sebastian Express wrote:Epicurus wrote:Sure looked like he was trying. Does mean it's weak bait, though. Stotts isn't immune from criticism. This is a fair criticism of him.

Dame resigning is great for Portland from a not losing a superstar perspective but man he’s gotta be wondering if he made the correct call returning

No one is pretending he was mute. But nice strawman. People are upset that he did not do enough.
I understand that in eight years of Terry being coach that you have not been able to bring yourself to criticize him for anything at all to my recollection. That you always point back to the players or Olshey.
But sometimes, I know this may be shocking, a person can have some responsibility for not doing enough.

I'd really like to see CJ for Harris if that's something Philly would be interested in. Harris is a legitimate stretch four who can put the ball on the floor and is good in the pick and pop and pick and roll. We could start Gary at the two and then go look for a solid three, hopefully.
GUYS! We are under thirty points behind for the moment! Small victories!

Just 7 more 4-point plays and the Blazers will be in this thing!

What would be these defensive adjustments? Doubling is not working as both James and Davis get the ball out of their hands and the secondary players are hitting their shots. Switching? Nope. I know a full-court press.blazersfan52 wrote:Just woke up, check the score. Really wish i hadn't... I'm not surprised, we suck at defense after all. But dang man, 80 points to the Lakers at the half? Listen.
We can do it. Oh don't like to see that buckle with Dame's knee.

Got it, nothing short of the full Bobby KNight was called for.The Sebastian Express wrote:Epicurus wrote:Often it may be legitimate, but it's not regarding the first half. It's good Dame's pulled himself out. He does not look right with his knee. Don't risk his longterm health for this game. Not even this series.

Man, last thing we need is Lillard getting a knee injury in this garbo game.

Cheers, epicurus. If you aren't going to bother arguing realistic points made and instead want to come up with putting words in people's mouth for your sole response, don't bother responding to me. Unfortunately, unlike others, I do not have the luxury to put you on ignore. This is why people don't like engaging with you on this board.

I'd agree, if he can't come back this game, then no point bringing him out next game.

Re: Playoff game 4 rd 1 Portland vs Lakers
I literally wrote out the winning game plan prior to game one, and much to my surprise, Terry followed it almost exactly, and we won. Since then he's gone back to heavy minutes of GTJ at the 3. Small ball sucks, and Terry can't stop going to it. All O, No D. Now we're just trading baskets and risking injury. Why? This isht is over.
