It would probably hurt the fan support as well. CJ and Stotts have spent nearly 2 years getting turned on. Olshey must see that to save his job it's going to require some drastic moves this offseason. The Norman Powell move seems almost perfectly setup for this eventuality anyways.

I’ll think it’s better when I see the improved line-up next season and who the new coach is.

Yea.. I was really a Simons believer... and it's nice that he's shooting well. But everytime I see him, I'm less enamored. All that athleticism doesn't matter when you're Charmin soft. The guy is allergic to contact. I can't even count the number of times where he pulled back instead of just using his athleticism to rise up and finish. He's going nowhere with his current playstyle and UTTERLY wasting his athletic gifts.

I actually became more impressed by Simons this series. I think his athleticism and ability to dunk and cut is wasted by Stotts' system.

Great series, Jokic and Lillard deserved more media attention for what they doing this year, but that is another story. I don't think the Nuggets are a better team than Portland after Murray's ACL injury, but just like Portland prevail in the 2019 tie after that epic 4xOT home win, this time Denver won at the home key epic double-overtime game. Another similarity with 2019 is that Denver wasted a double-digit lead in the middle of the 3rd quarter in deciding game 7 at home under pressure, and exactly the same happens to Portland this time, so I know how you feeling today guys.

Good luck Portland fans, I know you are very disappointed now, but trust me, you actually have one of the best starting lineups (+6th player) in the league, so with just the rest of the bench improvement and a better coach maybe you will do next season what Utah does this season?

I don't see a change in coach or starting lineup. The rotation will change, most likely.

We lost to the Pelicans because of poor play from our best player. I thought that was encouraging because Lillard made no excuses and I knew he would get better. This would have been the time to change coaches, if Olshey had any doubts about Stotts. Fortunately, Olshey stayed the course and it has worked out so well.

Portland was the WC team I was most afraid of. I'm thinking just one or two tweaks and the Blazers might be the team I'm most afraid of again. Portland's always had great fans. Congratulations on a very nice stretch run and respect to a team that won't give up!

Blazers were the better team and would have won with a fair game from the refs. Oh well, Joker is the best player in the NBA and after an assist from the refs against us, Nuggets should get to the finals.

I believe Nurk is a strong teammate for Dame, there's a PnR combo that can be unstoppable. CJ should be traded at most all cost, he just lives off Dames talent. Right now Dame is the 1-man team, you've got more talent than 1-guy.

I have to LOL at Portland being eliminated on another personally significant day for me. A few times, they have been eliminated on my birthday in the first round. This time due to the change in schedule, they were eliminated in the first round on my mom's birthday, the first after I lost her to COVID-19 two months ago. I'll be sure to announce whenever a significant personal day comes up on the day of an important Blazer game in the future so fellow fans can temper their expectations accordingly.

I feel like CJ has ruined Dame's career so far. Because he sucks so bad on defense, the Blazers have had to get defensive specialists at forward, which just puts more scoring pressure on the 2 guards, and they end up doing a lot of one on one chucking. That's going to give you hot/cold rather than consistency.

Then on defense we're playing Norm at the 3 because we don't have SF that can shoot.

I don't think CJ has ruined Dame's career. I think Olshey's refusal to realize the CJ + Dame experiment is not successful longterm in the playoffs has hampered Dame's career. CJ's a good player.. but he's not Dame. And he's 6'3 just like Dame. And he can't run the offense consistently and he makes bad decisions with the ball and deciding to ISO.

He'd do really well with a bigger guard and a coach that ran him off screens for more catch and shoot three point situations and less iso situations. Dame sets him up well, but Stotts doesn't run an ideal offense for him and Dame's a fine size.. but not to be paired with another guy the same height.

I can tell you exactly what the right situation for Nurkic is. It's called a contract extension. He should get one, but we'll see.

he hasn’t been able to stay healthy and this team is at a major crossroad/ decision point with key contracts expiring next off season. I for one would let him ride out next season and then re evaluate where we sit in the summer of 2022 unless nurk will sign for cheap.
