Re: Dame names potential trade destinations
Portland could benefit from a good for everyone Dame trade. Solid future draft assets along
with guys like Dinwiddie/DFS in a Brooklyn trade as opposed to Ben Simmons.
Cap management might be an important factor as the new CBA is fully implemented. If the middle
class guys Thybulle and Reddish who in previous markets would be getting $10-12 Million/year deals,
instead are forced to accept $6-8 Million/year deals, it would be helpful to keep a bit of room under
the cap to sign these guys as opposed to filling out a team's roster with the CJ Eleby's of the world.
Five years as a lifetime in the NBA. Unless a Giannis walks through the door, Portland is a .500 team
even if they through caution to the wind and trade for a Pascal or KAT in 23-24. I'll take the bet a
rebuilt Blazers team led by their BC that has an all-stars in SS, Scoot and a sharp shooter in Simons
would reach .500, for they have five years to find the guys up front to compete in the western
conference.

I don't see any deal with Miami that looks remotely good for Portland. Maybe if we could get like 3 unprotected 1sts and swing Herro to a 3rd team for young PF of similar talent....

Here's my big question to all of ya'll... How much value does Herro have? Didn't he break his shooting hand, and hasn't played an NBA minute since? There's alot of small fragile bones in a hand... just sayin'.

If Scoot ends up Portland's pick at 3, Would Miami offer up Bam + Lowry for Dame and Nurk?

Dame is going to the Heat. Seems like the writings in the wall.

Bam won’t end up in Portland if Dame goes to Miami.
That said, Nurk had a tweet that makes me sus of the Dame to Miami chatter. Sounds more like Miami trying to save face after losing out in Beal.

you're seeing a wall that I don't see
by all reports the Heat were trying hard to get Beal. Why would they do that if they knew that could get Dame?

I’ve always said, if Dame to Miami happens, Herro is part of it but to a third team for more pieces.

Re: Dame names potential trade destinations
for chrissakes people...nothing has changed in the Portland/Dame situation because of the Beal trade
Miami still does not have anywhere close to the assets to trade for Dame; Dame is still committed to staying in Portland; Blazers still have the 3rd pick and the same options they had before Beal was traded.
if western civilization fails, it will be because of Twitter and the chicken little reactions otherwise normal people have after abandoning commons sense based upon baseless BS tweets

Re: Dame names potential trade destinations
Respectfully, I must disagree. One thing has changed. Dame ain't goin' to the Suns.
But you're right Wiz. Nothing has really changed, but it could very quickly.
Miami IS tampering big time, and basicly begging Lillard to ask out, and that is news worthy IMO. What has really changed for me is to hear the comments I'm hearing from CJ, and now Haynes... Two people very close with Dame now saying THEY believe this is the off-season it likely happens. Can't help but to get excited, if you are part of the, looking forward to the seeing the Post-Dame Trailblazers, camp.
Next phase, if happening, will be "The List" right? Or will Miami and Brooklyn remain the only two teams he'll (publicly) mention? Will, or does Cronin have a different list?
I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR! btw... The Suns just jumped from 9:1 to 6:1, and are now 3rd favorite according to Vegas odds: Before and After:
Nuggets+450 / +450
Celtics+550 / +550
Suns+900 / +600
Bucks+700 / +700
Lakers+1200 / +1300
Warriors+1200 / +1300
76ers+1300 / +1400
This list tells me that the Bucks may try something big, and make a call to Portland about Dame if they haven't already. All the others listed, not happpening IMO unless Philly prefers Dame over Harden (which I doubt), or Harden changes his mind back to H-town.
Unrelated sorta, WOJ just said he thinks CP3 will be a Clipper, not a Laker. Only reason I really care about this development, is because I would love to somehow steal Rui Hachimura from them, and make him our PFFTF. He's RFA I think, and would be a steal if had for our MLE via S&T.... just maybe.

Re: Dame names potential trade destinations
For a Miami deal, how much value does Kyle Lowry's expiring contract have?
What If Miami packages Lowry/Herro in a three team deal, with mostly picks coming back to the Blazers from both the other teams?
Portland trades
Dame Lillard
TPE (Josh Hart)
Portland Receives
Alperen Sengun
2023 Miami #18
2026 #1 MIA
Houston trades 2025 #1 OKC or BKN

Tyler Herro

Why is Houston trading one of their only big guys for a guy who plays at a position as their primary young player (Green)? Why are they giving up a pick?
I won't touch on the value Portland is receiving here or the fact that Miami can't trade its 2026 pick because OKC has its 2025 pick.
But this trade just straight up doesn't make sense for a Houston team that's also likely to draft another wing player at four as well.

I have no defense for the Houston value. I was trying to find a 3 team deal with a team with a lot of future picks.
It may be that a 3 team deal like this would require a team that wants to do a salary dump, like Simmons from Brooklyn

This is where Harden makes things complicated because last I heard, he's now leaning toward Philly and not Houston, or maybe Houston is just over him more than Harden knows. Idk, but had Harden gone to Houston, I would have thought Philly would go hard after Dame and be inquiring or just flat out tampering like Miami currently is.
I could see a nice 3-way with BKN / POR / PHI though if the Harden tide turns again, and Dame wanted to team up with Embiid.

Re: Dame names potential trade destinations
Gee is likely correct in that Miami is almost certainly tampering big time with Dame and his
agent, hoping they can get a Beal like trade done for Dame. Likely they are not the only
team that is tampering.
Presumably this will be going on for much of the summer and starts right after the draft, when
Charlotte has to decide on Scoot/Miller. If Portland ends up with Scoot, the escape door will be
open for Dame

Some of these Miami clowns think they're getting Dame for Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson.
