I could have talked to him for hours, and the really cool part is he seems so genuinely excited about all this stuff that he just might have.

That's awesome! Great idea about avoiding Bazz, couldn't agree more. And he should be excited, he's got a dream job. Thanks for the info Jsun!

They might be similar in that they are both big and both athletic but Meyers is much more of an offensive center while Adams is more of a defensive presence. If they could just somehow meld them together...

KCP working out for Blazers today.

He is the only 1st round prospect in today's group. Paul Allen in attendance.

KCP is my favorite pick for the Blazers at #10 at the moment, although it is looking more like he could go at #9.

Aren't there episodes of Star Trek where they meld a split person back together? Someone has to be able to get a morphed picture of Meyers Adams.. :P

If the Blazers draft Shabazz, his parents should be banned from ever setting foot in Portland!!!

New DraftExpress mock has Blazers taking Steven Adams.

They previously had Gobert. I suspect this is just feedback that Adams is rated higher and filling in a C as a need for the Blazers.

Am I missing something with KCP? I just am not intrigued by him at all.

DX has pushed Adams from 16 → 10 which suggests gm' s are saying top 10 rather than any specific view on the Blazers pick. no question that ' Adams is a big unit and does give a presence in the paint on defense. He has already shown he wont back off the physical Stuff. with Zeller more and more looking like a 4 and Noel also being more a PF than a true centre Len,Adams,Dieng and Gobert are the top 4 centres. I Still like Kelly Olynyk but his measurements and lack of athleticism suggest mid first round.
If Len goes in the top 5 then Adams is likely to be the next option for a team looking for a center.

It will be interesting to see what the coaching staff thinks about the guys who are
working out at the training center. I'd still like to see Zeller, Adams and Gobert
and would like to see Shabazz, McColum, Williams come to Portland. Along with
Pope, these 7 players are likely to be a Blazer unless a player like Len slips due to
his injury.

You should be at least when trying to fill in our bench/depth. He is better than any available free agent with regards to our system and will be much cheaper than all. Also we don't have to worry whether or not we sign him.

He is a impact type of rookie, meaning he should come in day 1 and help an NBA team with his scoring. He is a lethal player from outside, off the pull up through catch and shoot or off the dribble. He may be a bit of a chucker, but was an efficient one in college with a 59% TS%

HE does have holes in his game though, he is not much of a dribbler and is a line driver, but he is only 20 years old and could get better. HE is very athletic, and has a defensive mentality and effort that shows he could be good on that end of the floor sooner rather than later. His shot selection can be improved upon though but would be just fine at 10.

Also when looking at our offensive system you can't undervalue 3 and D guys off the bench who have that much talent at a young age.

I think you are overrating KCP's defense. That seems to be one of the question marks about him. Also, why would he be a better fit than Mayo? Both seem like primarily shooters without much in the way of playmaking or paint scoring. That said, I would not be surprised if KCP and McCollum went, in some order, to Detroit and Minnesota and were off the board by our pick. The only reason we might have a shot at one of them is if a top 10 team falls in love with Shabazz. (Speaking of... look at the size of his mom's hands!!)

I think both Gobert and Adam's have significant bust potential. I think Zeller has a much lower bust potential simply because big's who can score can always carve out a Kaman-esque role in the NBA. Also I don't think Len will be on the board for us, although his stress fracture from a college schedule would worry me when projecting him through an 82 game season, so even if he is on the board I would hesitate with that pick. I also seem less enamored with Len's production than other people - I am not sure what he strength is, he seems to have decent all-around production but doesn't particularly stand out and descriptions from people who watched him at Maryland seem to suggest he never had a big effect on the court.

He reminds me a lot of Nick Young. A younger, lesser version of Nick Young won't move the needle for me at all

I just don't see the KCP fascination. A lot of guys can play above average defense and shoot threes ok. It's like if Wesley Mathews forgot how to dribble again. I'd prefer not to draft a one dimensional scorer. When Lillard is on the bench I wouldn't feel good about him on the floor.

Besides, there are a number of wings available in free agency this year that would be a huge upgrade to our roster.

Apparently there are some advanced statistics floating around that point out how much of a closer KCP is. Shooting 60+% in the final 5 minutes of games where he takes a high percentage of his shots.

There would be a lot of opportunities for KCP off the bench.. Would be excited to see how he'd do in a "spark off the bench" role.

A lot of people want Adams but if we go BPA I think it'll be someone like KCP or McCollum. A guy who's less of a project.

I like KCP but im worried about how many jumpers he takes. Hes very aggressive but not really in attacking the hoop. If it was between him and shabazz i dont know who i would take

If i was ranking the wings in the draft i would go Oladipo, Mclemore, Muhammad, and KCP in that order. Mccollum is up there but i think hes more of a combo guard and Porter is right there with oladipo and mclemore but i doubt we go for him considering we have Batum.
