Sexton 123.3 DRTG, Simons is 120.4 DRTG
Sexton ranks as the worst, Simons ranks 5th, Sharpe (benched for his defense) ranks 12th

.

defensive rating is a questionable individual gauge. A team's overall defense has an impact; so do the rotations

I usually gauge individual defensive rating by how much better, or worse, a player is than his team. Sexton is 3.8 points worse than his team; Simons is 3.7 points worse. Both players suck at defense

PER: Simons 14.7....Sexton 16.9
2ptFG%: Simons .485....Sexton .511
PER: Simons .368....Sexton .414
TS%: Simons .556....Sexton .601
Assist rate: Simons 23.8....Sexton 24.1
winshares/48: Simons .071....Sexton .084
BPM: Simons -0.6....Sexton -0.6
Vorp: Simons 0.5....Sexton 0.5

Salary: Simons 25.9M....Sexton 18.4M

a 7.5M salary difference considering that Sexton is better, or at least more efficient, offensively and they are about even defensively

pretty good indication that Cronin is demanding unrealistic returns for his players

also a good indication he's fine with rebooting the same team next season

Yeah, if that was offered, I don’t see how you could say no to that deal

Wiz, I agree with you, Sexton is the better player, offensively, and overall IMO, and I do think DRTG is an overrated stat just like +/~

I just found that interesting, as that is someone ORL is apparently looking at

I wouldn't mind retaining Ayton for half his current salary. That would be more in line with a player of his caliber. (that would also make him much more tradable). But I never got the Ayton hate. He's a good player that just goes through spells of under performing, but when he's down, he's still average.

It seems like if a trade were pending for Simons/Ayton/Grant we'd have held them out. I bet we'll trade RW3 though.

Hes a world beater against the suns, lets not get ahead of ourselves though. The money, as always, is key. If we can get him for half of his current deal perhaps keeping him is something that keeps us sound financially. If, however, the contract encroaches on anything similar to what he's making now or anything over 20 mil annually under no circumstances do I want him back. He just feels like the sort of guy who would play well for a new contract and then check out if I'm being honest so if we sign him i want it to be movable

And it does feel like a Rob deal is imminent as we've been resting him even more than usual. Hopefully we get a first for him, that'd be a great return

Giannis wants all the Europeans in big markets. Trouble for milwaukee and maybe great for our future picks?

I think we have to acknowledge that ayton has been playing well lately, and also acknowledge that were he to stay on the team through the summer or the deadline, that he might be a semi-interesting expiring asset to a good team looking to get off salary 'and' upgrade at the center position.

we can do this while acknowledging that these hot periods don't typically last indefinitely.

For what it's worth, here's Pelinka's gauge of the trade market (at least publicly)

Sounds like spin to me, wah teams are giving us their decent centers for our bad contracts, lets cry to the media.

If their expectation is that a single pick has enough value to get them from AD to Luka then maybe they don't think they should have to use it for anything smaller. There are definitely centers available but they have to include that pick.

Pelinka is delusional, and playing mind games.

His 1st round pick has lost much of its projected potential value since the trade.

Plus, the fakers have no one on their roster the Blazers need.

I do not see any trade the fakers can make for Williams that now makes sense for the Blazers.

Please excuss any errors, I am now almost blind.

Quentin Grimes & 2nd round pick to PHI for Caleb Martin. DAL building on that defense, they will be interesting to watch down the stretch

Oh boy, prepare yourselves that POR makes no deals at the deadline...again.

I actually think that RW3 is worth a 1st, the unprotected part depends on the type of 1st it is? Like if DAL offering their 25' 1st unprotected, it means little IMO as they will be a playoff team, meaning the pick is outside the lottery.

Since this is coming from an LAL source (Buha) & they only have one 1st (31) to offer, and I am unsure if they can attach future picks if they are not eligible to be traded yet (like if 31 doesn't convey it becomes multiple 2nd in future or lotto protect for 31 and then if it doesn't convey becomes 1-8 in 32, etc...), so I would not be overly surprised if that is the ask from LA

Maybe HOU comes to the table in the next day or two....

This is legit nonsense by Cronin. At that point just say he's not available.

LOL, if and I stress "if" this has any credence then it's crazy, how can you demand an "unprotected" first given you are afraid to play a very injury prone big like Timelord, I do agree as well with the "unprotected" could be a pick from a team like Dallas/Hou/OKC
