Interesting the Lakers just paid a lot of $$$ to move up in the second round from 47 to 40.

There is talk of the second round tier ending at around 46 which means Portland's pick at
43 might be a useful player. That SRP might be like a late FRP in next years draft.

I'm hoping that Portland adds either cash or one of the seconds they got in the GP3 trade to move up for someone like Nnaji.

I wonder if today is going to be a “hold onto your shorts” kind of day. If you know, you know ...

This is a really strong draft IMO. I think there are guys down to 40-45 that would be bubble FRP in most drafts. Its much better than next year, which is why DEN is going hard to get picks this year IMO.

40 is an area where the Amari Bailey's of the world will be going. There are a ton of SG's in this draft but few bigs.

I think Nnaji will be going to Brooklyn with one of the FRP's right before Portland. If Derek Lively, who did little
at Duke can go 10 to Dallas, Nnaji can go 21 to Brooklyn.

FWIW, most of the mock drafts this morning have moved Scoot to #2, and Miller to #3.

Wiretap indicates Blazers could be considering Amen. Maybe BS, but I've wondered all along whether Miller might slide a bit.

Miller could fall a ways if he got past Portland for Houston was counting on taking Amen at 4

Well most of the mocks I have been reading put Nnaji as a late first early second round pick which if it is the case Portland would be smart to trade up to better guarantee him. If not Nnaji then perhaps Klintman ,GG Jackson or Trayce Jackson -Davis.

Dear God no. If Scoot goes two I want the front court player who can shoot over the guard that can't.

I cannot express how infuriating it will be if we draft Amen over Miller.

There was one draft mock that had Miller falling actually pretty far.

I will say, there was a photo of the Blazers early big board and Miller was pretty far down that list.

I'm just gonna have to go with #InSchmitzITrust

Okay Miller you can sell me on and I think Dame to some degree on because at least he's a wing and he can shoot. He can shoot, he might not turn into an elite NBA shooter, but he can shoot.

Amen cannot shoot. It's not that Amen just shot poorly, it's that Amen's mechanics are broken. Great young guy from all reports. Insane athleticism. Good handle and good court vision. Fantastic size and build.

Completely broken shot. Not great defense. Played subpar competition. Cannot bounce a basketball up off the floor, which is mindboggling.

How can you sell Dame on picking this kid?

Last night I thought to myself before going to bed, "The absolute worst case scenario for us is we draft Amen over Scoot or Miller and trade Damian."

I am so sorry if I put this out into the universe.

Lord I’m praying we take Amen I like him for us more than Scoot and definitely more than Miller.

He is not a day 1 impact player but fits the Iggy/Jaylen Brown mild that would go nice with Sharpe and also with Simons lack of PG abilities if we move on from Dame.

Simons/Sharpe/Amen is an insane amount of potential and they all compliment each others games it would be a pretty fast rebuild if Amen turns out good and we get a haul for Dame to trade for a young PF/C

It's a bit stupid to take Iguodala when you have a legit two-way player left on the table, I'm afraid

I suspect the rumor of Scoot at # 2 is to get Portland to offer #3 + #23 or a player to move up. And I suspect The rumor of Portland Taking Amen at #3 is a countermove.

I actually think you could potentially be correct here. Feels like a good time to throw some chaos in and get a team to flinch, especially if they know Scoot is the player everyone else wants.

That said, the Hornets are a crap franchise run by a dumpster fire owner, so who the f knows.

Having a top 3 pick is however fun for this board hasnt been this alive since perhaps 2019.

All Portland has to do is pick whoever is left for TSE will go into a rage if Amen was the choise at 3
