What an ugly win. If an adjustment is not made before the Cleveland game, they are going to kill us.

Happy with the win, but Brandon should not tease us by missing the first free throw. If he misses them both, we get chalupas in the overtime.

I'm going to the Cleveland game on Wednesday, so I certainly hope they can adjust whatever they need to so they don't get off to another awful start.

Way to see Roy take over in crunch time. After tonight's game, I wonder if there are still any Hawks fans who would still argue that ATL shouldn't have drafted him because he would not have gotten any PT with Joe Johnson on the roster.

Yeah, unfortunately for Hawk fans they drafted for (percieved) talent over need in 05 when they took Marvin Williams over Chris Paul, and then they took need over talent in 06 when they took Sheldon Williams over Brandon Roy. I thought they finally got it right this year with Horford though.

big win for blazers

Post#129 » by roy7 » Mon Jan 28, 2008 5:09 am

i went to the game today with my cousin who has lseason tickets in the legend seats. anyways i think that this was a huge win for the blazers if we lose thats two in a row for the blazers at home and now that we come back and win today the reaction of all the guys seem like they are ready to keep the winning at home going. i just thought that this was a huge win and you could tell by all the blazers reactions.

did you all watch the game?

Agreed. Horford looked really good, I thought, this game. Just a great rebounder, and didn't try to do too much on offense, which is sometimes tough with young guys. He knows they have scorers on the team, so he knows to do his role. I am obviously super happy we have Oden, but just saying, Horford is going to be really good, and already is really solid.

Let's keep all of the game discussion in the game thread, and let's refrain in the future from putting game spoilers in the subject. Some people on this board, like me, don't always get to watch the games live and don't appreciate knowing the result before they finish watching.

Just saw the NBA Fastbreak hightlights...must say, very underwhelming. They spent like 2 minutes on each of the matchups shown before us, then only like 30 sec of us, starting at the shot by Roy that tied it at 93. And only at the very end did they mumble we were down by 14 at one point in the 4th. :banghead:

Since no one else in 12 pages of game thread have mentioned him, I will: this was the second game in a row where Sergio made a real difference. The comeback in the third was sparked by him coming in. Yes, he's still not a great shooter, but if I could get a PG that could give me six assists with no turnovers for every 14 minutes he plays, I'll take it. Also, I seem to remember a couple steals he had, but the ESPN boxscore said he didn't have any--does this seem wrong to anyone else?

Great game by Roy, but we're at the point now where we may as well put "Roy is a god!" in all our sig files and leave it at that since all the other superlatives are pretty much redundant at this point.

Well no offense, but if you are trying to keep from knowing the Blazer score, shouldn't this be the last place you come to?

I felt before and during the game that if we lost today, we would miss the playoffs. I think this is a game we HAD to have. We aren't good enough to lose games at homes to teams we're better than. This was important.

Well I didnt feel like starting a whole new thread on this so I figure I'll just put it in here.

Well I've been scanning through the nba teams, trying to come up with a decent player comparison to Travis Outlaw and I think I finally came up with the best comparison that I could find.... Tayshaun Prince. They're nearly the exact same size, with nearly the same numbers (Prince plays about 8 more minutes). I think Prince plays better defense still, but Outlaw isn't bad by any means.

So, at 23 years old and getting better by the day, how long do you think it is until this kid takes over a starting spot, if ever? Will he take Martell's spot? Hes becoming a player that deserves to be out on the court more than 26 minutes per game. Hes shooting the 3pt shot at a 47% clip. Hes adding a new dimension to his repertoire which will prove to make him truly un-guardable if he continues to improve the way he has been.

Could you imagine a front line of Outlaw, Aldridge, and Oden? Talk about an athletic front line

LOL exactly what I was thinking. I can't even log into AIM if I havent seen the game yet because I know somebody will message me and ruin the whole game for me, which I guess is ok in the event of a loss...but still...

It's like going into a bar and getting mad over someone smoking.

Not for long I think oregon is banning smoking in bars within two years.
