Sweet

Totally what I was hoping for.... /sarcasm

I mean if he is healthy he is the wing player we wanted to suck all year for and draft.

Yeah, a mediocre egotistical injury prone SF, totally what I was hoping Portland would draft.

FTS.

I read where the Sixers are looking at Crabbe. I also read that they've made Christian Wood unrestricted. I know most are indifferent about Woods but I think he has as much, if not more potential than Vonleh. He was stuck behind a lot of big guys in Philly and now with Embiid coming back I think they just wanted to free up cap space rather than have him as the fifth big. He's one dumpster dive I'd give a hard look at and have him at least on the summer league team.

I do have a question. I know teams can work out sign and trades with their unrestricted free agents but I'm not sure about doing it with restricted ones. Can someone give me the answer?

Yes you can do it with RFAs but if they sign an offer sheet S&T is no longer option, match or let go.

I get the injury part, egotistical I don't know he has been a good sport about the Dame 3 point shot. I don't agree on mediocre, he is right there with Gordon Hayward, better in some areas. Perfect 3rd guy to take pressure off our gaurds. HE looked like a 17-20 ppg scorer with Dallas at times, made great strides in his ball handling and dribbles to the rim. Would be a great PnR player on a team that could use more than 2.

I assume LA cause how can you have a meeting without your top exec? Meet tonight with Parsons, flight out to NY red eye meet Whiteside in the morning/early afternoon.

* Blazer fans on Darius Miles: "if he stays healthy he's a great SF"

* Blazer fans on Brandon Roy: "if he stays healthy he's a top-10 player"

* Blazer fans on Greg Oden: "if he stays healthy he's a dominant C"

seems like Portland, of all teams, would stay away from players who's first name is If-he-stays-healthy

Parsons played over 60 games past 2 seasons Oden played 82 games as a blazer. B Roy played but was awful when he did. Miles was before my time but IIRC he never looked great when he did.

a "contingent" could be Lillard, an assistant coach, and a scout

I don't think there's enough information to determine who the #1 option is. We don't even know if the Blazers plan on offering a max deal

I think I like Harkless over Parsons period. Even at $20 million per.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&y1=2016&p1=parsoch01&y2=2016&p2=harklma01&p3=&p4=&p5=&p6=

5 years younger. Healthier. Parsons shoots better and seems to be a master recruiter, but those knees.

FWIW Chandler is saying he wants CLOSE to max, maybe a shade under, like 1-2 mil under max will be worth it. I could see him just thinking big contract, and probably leaving the league soon

It's not sexy but could the Blazers sign:
Parsons and Mahinmi or Aldrich, plus one of Hendo/Harkless?

I think that

Lillard/CJ
CJ/Hendo
Parsons/Harkless
Aminu/Davis
Plumlee/Aldrich

Is a slightly better team than last year...basically switching Parsons for Crabbe and adding a defensive big to the bench rather than a certain 7' Center with nice hair who needs 5 feet+ of room to have a chance of making an outside shot.

This sucks ass.

Its sad that we gave up batum for scraps last year when we couldve used him against GSW. now we trade for basically a batum level guy and we are back to square one.

Lets not lose hope for WHITESIDE
