Man WAS is just picking up picks, 25' 1st from MEM, and I bet they can re-route Smart somewhere for draft capital

Re: Ayton, Grant, and Simons for anything?
Yes, this was very disappointing. Later this afternoon we will get to hear the same schtick from Cronin that he already said multiple times.
You look at what WAS is doing, what CHA is doing, what BRK is doing, what UTA has done\is doing, what SA did, what OKC set the blueprint for and it is just baffling to watch POR do nothing. Does Cronin really think he has a better solution than what the rest of league is\has done? It is just madness...
I did not want to believe that Wiz is right, that Cronin is Olshey 2.0, loves his players, overvalues his players, believes that his players are far better than the rest of the league values them, but the evidence is undeniable...

Perhaps Cronin thought the trade deadline was tomorrow?

Well, this was to be expected. We are an organization in total disarray. Playing our last three lotto picks off the bench. ZERO movement at the trade deadline. Sure hope the Vulcan P&L sheet looks spectacular.

It’s cool because he got an A+ for the on court product that already has a season of chemistry together. Think we’ll be okay. An F would have been pulling bad trades, sitting on your hands with the hottest team in the league… no real pressure to have to do anything, makes legit sense

They're on a winning streak, i don't believe we can assess the on court product based on a high or low point of the season but rather the overall picture. Yes we have seen improvement and the young talent is gelling but Cronin and the blazers have punted from the off season to the trade deadline now again it'll be the off season & probably the deadline where we will talk about how much we will get for our huge expirings. And once again it'll be a let down.
Honestly I'm not even sure Cronin talks to anybody mucy, seemed like there was little to no activity or even rumors of activity

Re: Ayton, Grant, and Simons for anything?
I think the market just wasn’t there at the DL.
The real F is Cronin not making a move last summer when our guys had trade value.
There is argument Grant has one of the worst contracts in the league. I don’t see any market for him. Hunter is younger, cheaper and having a breakout season - and he didn’t even return a true FRP. Grant wouldn’t even get shorter salary w/o assets given the market rate Hunter returned.
Bogdanovic has injury issues but when healthy is a much more well rounded player than Simons. He went for no picks and a few JAGs. Sexton and Colby weren’t traded either - I think there just isn’t a real demand for small, 1-way guards.
Ayton never had a market.
We for sure demanded a FRP for RWIII and teams rightfully refused to pay that for a guy so injured.
MT hasn’t even played this year, no team would trade for him.
I saw no trade that happened that made me say ‘that could have been us!’. This is a deadline that showed little interest in the guys we wanted moved. Big long money for a non-star (Grant) - no real matches. FRP paid for a small 1-way guard - no real matches. FRP paid for an oft injured role player - no real matches.
We simply don’t have guys that other teams are willing to pony assets for.

Re: Ayton, Grant, and Simons for anything?
What I thought the best fits for each player I wanted to see traded were:
Ayton: Lakers-->went with Mark Williams
Grant: Cavs-->went with DeAndre Hunter
Williams III: Rockets-->went with Zeller
Simons: Mavs-->went with nobody

Such a bummer RealGM was down most the afternoon so we couldn't discuss all the exciting moves this afternoon.

Exactly he should've made a move in the off season. Whether said or not it was kind of believed the deadline would be the time we settle in on a deal, last summer shouldve been that time and now we know that. But definitely an F for Cronin this season as a whole. Yes the team is much improved but the roster management has stank to high heaven
Now I definitely didn't want a deal that made us worse just for the sake of a deal, so standing pat may well have been the best course as it seemed like salary dumping was the primary goal around the NBA this Feb (which was in essence lowering the market for pretty much any vet who isnt a star). One can only hope the market for taking bad contracts remains high as we have a couple expirings next season. But unfortunately it seems like the teams in the most trouble have mostly used this deadline to solve those issues already so who knows if expirings will have rbe same premium in the off season or the next deadline. And that's if we don't extend the guys first..

Vulcan loves fans like you, just so pleased to ride the hamster wheel and keep giving them money, or do you even go to go the games?
Let’s revisit this in a couple years and see if POR is better than all those teams, or they are in the same relative position that they are now

Re: Ayton, Grant, and Simons for anything?
It's astounding how clueless this guy is.. It's probably a good thing he didnt make any trades because he loses every one of them purely from a value perspective. He mismanages assets like crazy. Everyone wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but I've been saying since day one he's been the assistant gm since before Neo. All those bad contacts and baffling trades or trades that were on the table that were never made.. HE WAS INVOLVED IN. It's wild to think he had no say in any of those discussions when he was an assistant GM. I think it's more likely that Neo stole a lot of Cronin's ideas and simply took credit for all those disastrous moves over the years which totally aligns with his character.
Every year that vulcan and Jody Allen run this team is a year farther away we are from being a contender. I hate these people. Yes.Hate. These are not good people, they are not savvy, they're morons surrounded by sycophants. Why hasn't there been anything in the news about how Jody was supposed to sell the team for charity but instead pays herself hundreds of millions a year as executor of her dead brothers estate and ignoring his wishes? The league should honor Paul Allens contributions to the league and force a trade in alignment with his will. It's always bothered me that this is just ignored year after year and when asked about selling, they just say we're doing that at this time. I thought that greedy _____ was just waiting for the tv deal but that came and went, so it's clear she's not ever gonna sell and so the Blazers will continue to be a treadmill team just good enough to not get high picks and bad enough to never do crap in the playoffs.

I hope you all take about 5 shots of nyquil and sleep it off, we could have traded Reath for Kobe and you clowns would be pissed we didn't squeeze a few 2nd rounders out of the deal. It must be miserable being you guys. Cheers

They should have increased their server resources for the usage spike that happens every year. Deadline, Lottery, and Draft days need that boost.
