someone told me we arent allowed to offer or take back kanter during our offer last time

I'm hopeful for Parsons. The injury history scares me, but his skill set would be a fantastic fit on this team. I don't really like the pay level that we'd be looking at, but it appears that is the state of the league this year. Add Parsons and a couple of good bargain bin pickups and I'll be quite pleased with free agency.

Maybe because Parsons can only play 3/4 of a season we could pay him 3/4 of a max? That might be reasonable.

Olshey hasn't met with Whiteside yet. he can work his charm, show how he fits with the team and their progress, wind up a "close 2nd", and then overpay for 50 games a season of Chandler Parsons. :-?

DusterBuster wrote:Another sad fact, Parsons may be the biggest FA Portland has ever signed.....

This sucks ass.

there's still time for another GM to overpay... Bryan Colangelo is a GM...

wjun15 wrote:Its sad that we gave up batum for scraps last year when we couldve used him against GSW. now we trade for basically a batum level guy and we are back to square one.

Batum is a better player than Parsons, and he was also young enough to "emerge" with.

Jsun947 wrote:Batum was leaving the moment he became a free agent. That's it. We wouldn't have him next year regardless of what happened so it's a moot point.

that's purely speculative. I'm sure the Blazers could have come up with over $20,000,000 reasons a year for the next 5 years as to why he should stay. whether or not that would be smart... not that it matters if the Blazers max out Parsons.

Matt800 wrote:Does anyone know what sort of health situation Parsons has? Is it a repeat thing or just bad luck? If he were healthy he could be an ideal pick up. Then again that's probably what DAL thought when they signed him.

torn meniscus. similar injury to the one that ended Brandon Roy.
at least there's a new CBA in a few years which might have an amnesty clause.

Lillard--23-25 million
CJ--24-30 million
Parsons--20+ million?
Dwight--24+ million?

Meh, what's a hundred million dollars/year for 4 players?

Everyone, we all have pillows and hugs for Duster if Parsons is signed, right?

I think we need to make those padded hugs so he doesn't hurt us.

Something about Rivers in Portland feels predestined.

Zach Lowe thinks Bazemore could get $19-20 million per year.

Meeting with Parsons right now. Wonder if he bothers with LA and Orl.
