Maybe a center is needed, but against GS the majority of the game is small ball, and a high paid center would just be sitting on the bench for a large part of the game. There's some teams who a good center would help against, but it's more of a hit or miss position now based on lineups and to invest a lot of money in that doesn't seem like it should be top priority, especially when Davis and Plumlee are pretty decent. Maybe if Anthony Davis were available, or a time machine for Shaq. But there just aren't that many great center options. I'm all for some depth though if a guy like Aldrich can be had for a good price and is willing to be a role player.

Meyers Leonard's defense doesn't bring much to the equation, but his perimeter shooting might be more important now that Evans is on board.

I'm happier with the cheaper option. Parson's injuries scared me too much. For all we know he could have played 3 games and gotten hurt or played like Brandon Roy at the end. Besides, according to some we already have Chandler Parsons lite in Layman!

Turner's playmaking, defense and all around "glue" will really help the Blazers. Don't worry about his 3pt shot because THE BLAZERS HAVE LAYMAN!

Hope the Blazers sign Aldrich/Mahinmi, Harkless or Henderson (or both) and can stay under the cap. Of all years, I think there will be some options at the trade deadline this coming year.

Teams are spending like it was a 100% cap increase not 30%. There will be a time to take advantage of that.

Yeah I have a feeling Meyers and Crabbe will be signed now that we got Evan, we need shooters. If we miss out on Gasol we probably go for Manhimi or Hibbert.

Turner absolutely moves the needle. I don't like the 17.5 number, but it does seem to be the going rate based off the rest of the deals doing down. Take the sticker shock out of the equation, and Turner is an excellent acquisition that makes our team more dynamic, better balanced, and more talented. I'd say needle moved, and the offseason is not over yet.

I have been OK for a while with the idea of adding Turner; personally, I preferred Lance Stevenson over Turner as I think he's probably a better player

Stephenson is a head case. I wouldn't want him in the Portland locker room.

Idea...

S&T Crabbe to Sacramento for Kosta Koufus and Ben McLemore.

WHY FOR PORTLAND?
Reason 1: If Crabbe demands $15M, we can cut roughly $3M with this deal.
Reason 2: Koufus played with Turner in college and McCollum in high school.
Reason 3: McLemore deserves a chance to play with a better team.

WHY FOR SACRAMENTO?
Reason 1: The cap hit would be smaller for Crabbe.
Reason 2: The Kings are loaded at center, and they really have no need for Koufus.
Reason 3: McLemore would fall further into the bench if Sacramento adds Crabbe and Waiters anyway.

Don't the Kings have about 30 million in cap-space? If so, hard to see them giving up assets to a player they can sign outright, even though he's RFA. Portland's signing of Turner make it much more likely Portland won't match. Besides that, it sure looks like the Kings are going for Waiters as a SG
