I got him at Minnesota without much hesitation. Plus, we know Minnesota is obsessed with us, and they will want to recreate a Lillard like situation.

Yeah if a team drafts him to be there pg, boy... He isn't Lillard though cause Lillard has proven he is a PG but I get where your going with it.

I didn't mean Lillard in like a player clone..

I mean't a player who could find immediate success at the NBA level in the right role because of 4 years spent in college and a well defined skill-set. McCollum could definitely be a challenger for ROY in the right situation.

I am sure you understood, but I thought I would make it clear in case others were confused.

He also said that the Blazers will NOT pick Shabazz if he's there at #10.

Take this for what it is.

I could see him having a year similar to Rivers. All about him game style, poor conditioning, injury etc.

I am not sure I would take him over Zeller or Adams.

He's more ready to contribute, and would be an instant spark off the bench. It would be like taking Lillard over Drummond again... except that we already have Lillard and our future really needs a Drummond!

could it be that Portland would take McCollum because they have a contingency trade with Utah?

sure is possible, but I would have to wnder who they really want then? I think Adams is probably gone at the 11-13 spots if we don't take him, then again maybe POR has no real interest in Adams

It wouldn't shock me. Then again, it also wouldn't shock me if Portland simply really likes McCollum and views him as an ideal 6th man. Personally, I'd hope for more than a 6th man out of the #10 pick, but that's just me.

I would love a 6th man. Cle got a sixth man outta better draft at the 4th pick. I think McC is gonna be better than Waiters.

yeah, would probably mean Adams was out

but maybe the Blazers like Gobert/Dieng/Plumlee as much and have somebody in mind at 21

or maybe they would simply be trading #10 + Freeland for #14 and freeing up nearly 3 million in cap-space. Hell, it Utah is really hot for Mccollum, maybe Portland can get both 14 & 21 AND dump Freeland....I can dream small!

Yeah, I think there are some good 6th men out there in free agency. But not many good defensive big man, even as prospects.

Not like Utah has a ton of salary tied up for next year. Maybe they are fine playing Freeland some minutes to get whatever they can out of him and tank if he never improves.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 17m

Clips, Blazers talked on DeAndre Jordan prior to Doc Rivers' hiring, sources say, but Portland interest and Jordan market value unclear now.

Not exactly a draft topic and there is a thread on that already. ;)

I'd love that. I hear Dieng has been red-flagged, so yeah, my interest in him is pretty low right now. Getting Gobert at 21 would be a great get though. Not sure who Portland would target at 14.

It is most likely to involve our draft pick.

Still there is another thread and I have seen at least 4 different people quote this in 4 different places.

And god forbid we give our draft pick for Jordan.
