the rumor is he'll decide this evening or tomorrow morning

can you imagine how you'd feel about the 'delay' if you were a Thunder fan?

same as a Blazers fan when Aldridge was interviewing the Spurs and Suns. :-?

Teams Estimated Projected Salary Cap Space Left (Best Case), amounts that are meaningful

Boston 34
Brooklyn 25
Charlotte 14
Chicago 29
Dallas 65
Denver 31
Houston 17
Indiana 27
Lakers 28
Miami 24
Milwaukee 14
Minny 25
New Orleans 9
New York 11
OKC 34
Philly 61
Phoenix 28
Portland 27
Sacramento 11
San Antonio 13
Utah 26
Washington 12

Thats upwards of 565 million in cap space still out there...

Now obviously teams have cap holds on some of their own free agents which reduces these totals, or are unlikely to wavie some of their players that have non-guaranteed deals but as you can see there is a ton of cap space still out there. Expecting Crabbe, Harkless, or even Leonard to not get a sizeable offer is silly...

I wonder how Plumlee feels watching the Blazers go from Whiteside to Howard to Pau

Hes the type of guy that's your third string center, you sign cheap, and hope he develops.

c'mon now, are you drinking already?

you meant to click on the post about Dedmon, not Durant. Do you shoot FT's that badly?

Haha, I had a chuckle thinking of Durant signed to a cheap deal to play 3rd string center for us.

I've apparently typed Durant so many times that my phone autocorrected it from Dedmon = /

$20 million for Gasol... We'd have to renounce Henderson, Leonard and still trade Davis for a pick. Yikes.

OMFG.

Ramona Shelburne (although she's not a great source) says Pau's market is 18-22 mil per year...

Considering we have 8.3 mil now we would have to do something similar to the following

Renounce Harkless + Leonard (23)
Renounce Leonard + Trade Davis (22.66)
Renounce Leonard + Trade Plumlee (18.3)
Renounce Leonard + Trade Vonleh (18.7)
Renounce Leonard + Trade Vonleh & Plumlee (21)
Trade Davis, Vonleh & Plumlee (20)

I vote renounce Leonard and trade Plumlee (due to future cap clogging) and waive Montero/Alexander if needed.

Looks like Hendo, Leonard and one of Davis/Plumlee are out in that case.

Just a FYI Ramona Shelburne is one of the best reporters and sources outside of Woj in the basketball game. She is intricately connected, moreso than any other writer on the major companies, to the basketball scene in Los Angeles. If she says Pau is getting 18-22 on the market, then she isn't wrong at all.

I don't particularly care about Aldrich. He has some nice advanced stats, but those don't mean much if they guy only ever gets 15min a game.

They have 4 centers now (Towns, Aldrich, Pekovic, Dieng) so yeah.

Unless Durant goes to San Antonio (which I think is highly unlikely) then we should pencil Gasol in on the Spurs.
Same goes for Barnes and the Warriors. Which would hypothetically make Ezeli somewhat attainable, but it would take an overpay to prevent GS from matching.

Zaza is the least sexy, yet most productive player out there. If you bring back all the RFA's you could probably still get Zaza, just renounce rights to Henderson.

how much can spurs pay gasol?
