in case anybody was wondering, until that last basket by CJ, over the last 2 games, in 17 minutes of 2nd Q the Blazers had 1 FG and 7 points. At that rate, they'd score 20 points in a game

Blazers have 4 assists on 12 FG's. Jazz defense is working and like I said earlier in this thread...Utah likes ugly games. Blazers are cooperating

Sure... but this lineup to start the 2nd quarter is a major issue. It's been bad all year. Something needs to be done.

Well the Blazers avoided a horrendous 2nd quarter this time by really taking charge in the last 1/3rd of the quarter.

the problem is the Blazers have one decent PG. Napier is so-so, at best, but he's not in the rotation

neither CJ or Turner are PG's. CJ has great handles but average court vision and tends to over-dribble. Turner is probably a better passer then CJ but he over-dribbles too; more to the point, his handles are heavily back-to-the-basket and back-in motion,...that isn't going to effectively run any offense besides his own

I'd agree that something needs to be done; the Blazers need another PG besides Dame in the rotation, but the way their roster is constructed, that's a no-go, unless Napier gets better then he's shown and takes minutes from Turner and Connaughton.

whenever the going gets tough, Portland's offense devolves to iso and hero-ball; it's great when it's working but it doesn't work enough to make it successful

Yes of course... but Napier can shoot and handle... sometimes play pesky defense on none good backup PGs... I'd rather have him in that unit than Connaughton. Connaughton is really just a spot up shooter at this point, which is fine in certain lineups. But if CJ being the lone decent scorer out there is going to look like this, than Napier needs to be in with him.

Jazz fan here. You guys got a great pickup in Nurkic. I thought at first you may have lost that trade but it is looking like a good trade now.

Man Nurkic is looking damn good, CJ and Lillard are setting him up for very good shots.

that last Turner basket is why I don't like him for the Blazers...PDX used up about 22 seconds of the shot clock and Turner had the ball for about 18 seconds; in the last 5 or 6 seconds, the other 4 Blazers were standing around watching Turner go thru his spin cycle

Kind of over Pat at this point.... He takes too many gambles on D, and hasn't really been cutting very hard. I'm also completely and fully over playing 5 million wings out of position all game. Feel like we're always at a matchup disadvantage.

Okay... Connaugton proving me wrong... glad to see it. Something Crabbe never seemed to do.

Man... CJ looking like crap the last 2 games on offense. His handles have looked REALLY loose, and he's not really playing in control. Needs to hit some freethrow line jumpers instead of going to the rim for a bit.

Very solid defense to the end the 3rd there, I was very impressed by the play of Davis especially.

Dame & CJ are 9-27 and and 2-11 on three's; they also have 6 turnovers. But the Blazers lead by 5 on the road. That's kind of crazy

It is.... I just wish we could see them both get going outside of Lillard's 2nd half against Toronto it's mostly been mediocre to subpar games for both of them to this point.
