This news makes it crystal clear why Cronin was so urgent to jump on those head scratching deals during the deadline in a desperate attempt to unload as much long term salary as it was possible.

Yeah, that is a big part of the equation.

Key Arena was a city owned asset. Thus issues arose.

Well I have also seen owners hold a city over a barrel for help building a new arena or threats to move. This might be more common outside of the NBA, I might be recalling NFL teams.

fortunately even as old as it is moda is considered a top tier arena still. Additionally portland has a professional sports monopoly with the blazers and a market that, despite recent events, is growing into a higher market than other possible locations considering that vegas and seattle are likely to gain expansion teams

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

There is some thought the NBA would like a female owner for the Blazers but I'm skeptical for
is she really interested?

I want the best owner possible and championships. If a female owner gets us titles great If a male owner gets us closer to that goal then give me the man. Most qualified person please. Paulson would be nice but idk if he has the money to pull it off short of assembling an ownership group which I'm not a fan of compared to a single majority owner

Congrats guys on getting a local owner. I've always admired your fans and the organization, glad you guys don't have to worry about the team moving.

I hope Knight being one of the buyers means the team stays in Portland but he is 84 and his son lives in California and runs a studio. Can't find out about his daughter. Let's hope that the children and grandchildren are Blazer fans.

Interesting to read the Broncos sale is about to conclude with a Walton heir about to buy the
team.

Supposedly, the organization handling the sale will next turn to auctioning off the Blazers and
we’ll see who wants to buy an NBA team.
