Nice move for Grant, and I really don't feel like those draft picks will amount to what Grant will for you guys.

The value on this trade depends on what we could've done with that Room otherwise

im not a pie in the sky type og guy, i consider myself a realest type of person and in my thoughts cronin had/has of N.O. crap to clean up and the clipper trade was not good but he's making headway imo to.
i dont know how much $ he sent out and correct me if im wrong.
cj=30m?
powell=20m?
roco=12-15m?
and if they are against trading DAME and his contract, then they have to put the best foot foward.
and inho N.O. screwed this team over for years lol.

For sure. Olshey was very mediocre and just had a sly grin to convince some otherwise

Same here. Genuinely shocked this was enough to get Grant.

Great deal by Cronin, even if Grant ends up as a 1 year rental.

It's Portland, OR, so if you're talking FA, then this is better.

I'll fully eat crow on this.

My thinking was A) being totally beaten down by the series of bad trades that were made at the end of the season, and B) fully expecting that the Pelicans pick was what the Blazers were planning to use for Grant, so when they lost out on that AND dropped in the lottery, that they would just do this and call it a day.

As expected, for Portland really wasn't working out any of the players expected to go in the late
first, early second round. A bit more complicated with all the SRP movement but its finally over.

Dame is going to get his big scoring wing while Portland can now use 7 to pick the BPA.

If we could get Collins, can Grant really play SF? He's been a PF for a vast majority of minutes has he not? Love to get OG and then go into the season with:
Nurkic
Grant
OG
Ant
Dame

That’s a squad but I don’t trust nurks health much, and grant and dame aren’t exactly showing great signs lately either. Will be interesting tho at least

i forgot about OG but i thought with collins it would allow us a lil small ball with grant and collins just in case nurkic goes down.

kinda how boston and warriors were playing in the finals.

I thin Collins is more likely to be moved than OG - Masai rarely trades 'his' guys.

Collins as a small ball C is really intriguing. Especially in the PO's - I would want to save most of his C minutes for that.

Snagging Collins and finding a way to get Anderson would transform this team so much, tons of versatility.

Love this deal.

75% because it negates the horror show possibility I feared of us using #7 for Grant + something.

25% because it's genuinely a good value deal, and I'd love to try and reward Dame's loyalty with trying to compete.

Now just use #7 on Shaedon Sharpe or Dyson Daniels and I'm very happy about this draft period for Portland.

I'd be keen to trade for Hayward + #15 too.

If Cronin turns #7+Bledsoe into OG, I'll replace the clown avatar with a halo avatar.

Dame/Simons/Anunoby/Grant/Nurkić
plus full MLE + Hart/Little/Winslow/Johnson/Ingles?

That's a team that could win at least one game against Golden State in the playoffs.

I am not a Grant fan but getting him for peanuts short term is GREAT, this opens up so many more options with the 7th and or other moves as we really did not give up any immediate assets.

I'm not out on it, but Hayward cost to production isn't doing it for me.

We don’t pay the bills. If Gordon doesn’t pan out we have a 33M EC next summer.

Even if Gordon doesn’t play a game for us I like moving the EC for him and 15. Get a near lotto pick, kick the can down the road to 23 summer for a splash move using picks and Gordon EC (And assuming we make the POs we have all future FRP to play with)

It’s a move that’s prudent on so many levels, only downside is what it cost a billioneers pocketbook.

Great trade. I think Detroit had a good relationship with Grant and probably did him a solid by getting him next to a buddy from team USA and team with a black coach which Grant had mentioned previously as well.

Not so into Collins, OG would be my preferred follow-up, but man I also really like Daniels if he is there at 7 still.
