Some combination of Nurk/Grant along with Sharpe could get a Siakum deal done

Nurkic, Sharpe, Winslow, Keon and 3 firsts for Siakam? Hart, Nas plus a first for Turner?

Dame/ Payton
Simons/ Avery Bradley?
Grant/ Watford
Siakam/ Brown
Turner/ Eubanks

Best starting 5 in the league but the worst bench…

you dont trade sharpe unless youre absolutely sure you can become a contender

personally, i dont believe we can become a contender and id rather keep sharpe (maybe ant too) for the future

being in a purgatory is not the worst thing that can happen to you, ask sacramento kings

A bigger question is whether Grant would sign his extension in Portland.

We don't know if Portland has offered or will offer Grant the extension he has wanted since he arrived
from Detroit. If the answer is NO and the team intends to let him become a free agent, the team would
be best advised to move him at the trade deadline

What about
Hart+GP2+Nurkic
4
Ben Simmons +2nd+Day'Ron Sharpe
We would need a center so maybe Keon+Day'Ron and 2nd for Mark Williams...
Totally absurd proposal but if you believe Simmons will turn it around you pounce..

Well, according to BE, Portland has offered Grant the max (112/4). If he decides to test the market and declines the offer, Portland has to trade him

What does Grant do besides score? He doesn’t rebound, he doesn’t create, he was known as a good defender but how good has he actually been on that end this year? I think he can create for himself but that’s about it. How much money do we pay a pf (he’s really a 3 imo) that does nothing but score?

I like Grant but 35 million a year or whatever he wants is crazy right?

Five year max is $233/5. Portland would have to be insane if they offered him anything close to that
for a front court player who does not rebound. It's the very reason why Detroit traded him last summer
for he was also happy in Detroit

Let's see if Portland trades him at the trade deadline for he could really help a contender

What about Jeremi Grant and Josh Hart for Hield and Turner? Both Expiring deals but Indy gets Grants bird rights and can offer him the most in FA. Would make a great PNR PNP option with Hali. They can re-sign Hart too if they want.. Blazers Get their Center upgrade and add another undersized wing but have the best 3 point shooting 1-3 in the league.

Blazers would need to follow this up with Nurkic and 3 firsts for OG (or something like that, just an example) Portland would have to get creative with their picks, maybe by offering the pick this year top 3 protected and convey it 4-14. Not sure if it’s legal though. Toronto gets their center and picks.

Dame/Payton
Simons/Sharpe
Hield/Nas
OG/Winslow
Turner/Eubanks

If PDX pulls that off their defense is still suspect but they play a 5 out offense that plays in transition. Our perimeter defense would probably be the worst in the league though.. Still, that’s a high octane offense. Maybe move Simons for a PF (Randle obviously lmao) and move Buddy to the 2 and OG to the 3?

Dame/ Payton
Buddy/ Sharpe
OG/ Nas
Randle/ Winslow
Turner/ Eubanks

If Grant really turned down 4/112 trade him.

Even paying him that is gross. Imagine this next year -

Dame 45.6M
Grant 28M
Ant 24.1M

That’s 98M for one of the least impressive ‘Big 3’s in the league, with none excelling on defense, 2 being horrible at creating for others and in all taking up 73% of the cap.

That’s a 7-8 seed at best trio. And really Ant is a 6th man and Grant is a low tier #3. So it’s nearly 100M for a trio that lacks the real #2 option that we have all been praying for since LMA bolted.

Gross.

I'm hoping if they trade Grant, they get a low FRP from one of the contenders. He might really
help a contender compete in the playoffs.

Yeah I loathe that deal honestly. If they give grant that 235 mil cronin should be fired on the spot. I consider jerami highly overrated. He's a rebounding liability and his defense is not super good either despite his reputation. And that big 3 is so iso heavy I want to barf.

Grant just screams empty stats to me, he doesn't make portland that much better honestly

What team would Nurkic be starting on right now?
Charlotte
Detroit
OKC
San Antonio
Toronto

That’s probably it, at best. And which of these teams would would actually want him? None? And if they did what would we get in return? Nothing that’s an upgrade.

The only way we trade Nurkic is in a bigger deal where the other team is trading equally bad salary back

Id be down to trade simons hart and sharpe if it netted us OG and Turner. Our bench would need some work though

Dame
Little/Payton
OG
Grant
Turner/Eubanks

would be a sick lineup

Is that the consensus, that Blazers should be sellers? Or just sell Grant to get something for him?

Blazers only 2.5 games behind the #4 seed, Pelicans. But there are 7 teams between Portland and New Orleans.

West being bunched up from #4 to #13 might make for more buyers than sellers, at least in the West.

Grant isnt even scoring right now. He is horribly inconsistent. $112M seems like too much for what he's done this year. He has had some nice games, but he's had even more bad games. If he wants $233M, the Blazers should send him packing.

Grant was not good when we got him remember? But we had to appease Dame.

Return to Portland Trail Blazers
