That's sort of odd given where sa is currently in a rebuild

I suspect the Blazers will sit out FA largely, but I wish the Blazers would make a play for Saddiq Bey (spelling probably wrong).

Yep. Very underwhelming FA crop. Bey is the only one that Im interested in for where the Blazers currently sit

It's a good year to have a full roster

Bey would be awesome but just don’t know his value on the market. If one of Grant or Thybulle are leaving, Bey would be awesome.

I would rather have Josh Green than Bey. Not sure the appeal. He can rebound for a wing but hasn’t shot well from 3 since his rookie year, generally has a low EFg, defensive advances stats don’t pop, coming off an injury. Not that young. Not that much upside.

He might be a worthy BAE guy for a playoff team without many other options but don’t see his fit in PDX.

Bey is going to miss most of the season with injury. He has been pretty underwhelming thus far in his career. IMHO we already have enough young forwards that need to develop.

It's possible Portland could get involved with LA's determination to build their roster if Portland
is willing to take back enough salary from a Grant trade to make a signing of Klay possible.

Lebron wants to get this done prior to his headed to the Olympics. How this impacts Portland is
another matter for they don't have to do anything after getting under the tax line. One would think
they won't do anything to put them over again.

While we're rebuilding and seeing what we have in our youth (predominantly Scoot, Shaedon, Clingan and Deni), we absolutely should be taking on bad contracts in exchange for productive players (Simons and Grant primarily), which will maximise the additional draft capital that we receive in return, while freeing up minutes for our youth.

I’ll just say that the Blazers can’t afford to screw next season up by keeping vets, staying healthy and ending up somehow as a play-in team.
Blazers have not yet identified their “star” , and their best chance of getting one (or potentially another one) is next year’s draft. They absolutely HAVE to nail a pick next year.

Scoot
Sharpe
Deni
2025 Top 5 Pick
Clingan

Would start to look like the Blazers have a rebuild plan, rather than a plan to compete weakly.

I hope the Lakers overpay for Klay. Ideally, Grant would go to other team with better trade assets, and then hopefully Tice to Dallas, and Simons to Orlando.

I think if Grant is traded it will be after the big dogs are settled in. As LAL has not been able to may any moves thus far I am getting pretty hopeful that we can squeeze them in a Grant deal.

If Klay goes to DAL its even better for us re LAL paying for Grant.

Yeah, have to see what happens with Klay first with so many contenders or fake contenders vying for him. After that anything that'll happen for Grant will go down.
