Re: 2025 Blazer Draft Prospects
Kon Kneuppel is getting some VERY early buzz...
https://www.si.com/nba/draft/newsfeed/2025-nba-draft-kon-knueppel-is-the-perfect-connector-piece
and he is a shooter,I think POR could use a few of those types of players.
Would love to see POR acquire another 25' 1st somehow. Obviously, barring something unlikely, it would be a mid\late 1st, but this is shaping up to be a LOADED draft and unfortunately POR will only have (1) pick most likely.

Re: 2025 Blazer Draft Prospects
Good breakdown of who the best 2025 prospects are. Expect rankings to change a fair bit as the season progresses, it usually does.

Re: 2025 Blazer Draft Prospects
Rough outing by Edgecome vs Gonzaga, Baylor got bulldozed, although I did hear on the broadcast that they had 9? new players on their team, which makes me wonder how they were ranked #8 to start the year, but given the talent they have they could very likely be a much better team towards the end of the year (when it matters most, than they are now)
Edgecome did not look particularly great (4pts, 2-11 shooting, 3 TO), 7 boards, sloppy with the ball, hesitant on some drives\shots, got blocked a few times. However, his EXTREME athleticism stood out, looked bigger than I thought he was too, absolute poster dunk on Few's kid.

Had two eye-popping blocks as well.

I've cooled pretty hard on Edgecombe since watching the Bahamas. If he's not able to leverage his plus athleticism to gain advantage consistently at the college level, he'll have an even harder time in the NBA. Still think he'll be a lotto pick, though...

Demin looks much more athletic and lanky than I thought he was. If that shot is legit he may work into the Top-5.

Dylan Harper is giving me real Brandon Roy vibes. I can certainly see the Blazers taking him if they end up with the 3rd pick.

I expect Egor, Noa, Evans and Saraf to climb with Huge + Traore + VJ to fall sooner than later.
VJ looks pretty small.

Re: 2025 Blazer Draft Prospects
I think Gonzalez for sure will fall, not getting much playing time and has not looked good when he has had time
I still think Traore will be top 5 IMO, he struggled out the gate a little this year, however, he had a really strong year LY and play of late has been on an upward trend.
I find Edgecome intriguing, he will be interesting to watch as the year progresses. Played impressively in Olympic qualifying, alongside NBA players, he looked like a freshman vs Gonzaga, but his athleticism stood out. He had a block against Braden Huff (I think) who is 6'10 where he smothered him, it was his most impressive play of the night IMO.
I actually thought he looked a little bigger than I thought he was. He is listed at 6'4, but I always thought he was more like 6'2ish, but he looked bigger than that from what I saw.

I am still 'in' on Zvonimir Ivisic - I hope we can turn Simons into a late FRP and snag him. A great ying to the yang of Clingan as he is more of a shooter despite being 7'2.

Ryan Kalkbrenner, a 7’2 250lb senior center who plays for Creighton. Ranked as a top 40/50 player in the 2025 draft.
#3 center behind Maluach & Zikarsky, both of whom have looked shaky this year so far

Need a star.
Forward or PG, preferably.
Flagg and Bailey as obvious front runners.
Took an interest in Egor Demin as soon as I his height and a few write-ups of his game.

Re: 2025 Blazer Draft Prospects
I'd settle for solid player at a position of need.
Hard to expect any 19 year old player to be develop into a star.
I'd frankly be happy if we could move the guys we all know have no future in Portland and replace
Chauncey with a new head coach who eventually would win with the talent on hand and with pieces
drafted in the 2025, 2026 drafts.

Demin is interesting as hell. If Camara can guard PG full time, which is probably unrealistic but who knows, then you could be looking at a pretty unique lineup size wise - the defensive assignments could be something like -
PG - Camara (6'8)
SG - Sharpe (6'6)
SF - Demin (6'9)
PF - Avdija (6'9)
C - Clingan (7'2)
If Demin is really this caliber of shooter I would wager he should be the 2nd pick in this draft.

Yeah, Demin is so controlled and almost always makes the correct decision in the PnR...at least in the 3 full game highlights I've watched. A very natural shooter, too. I think he'll be Top 4 in this draft. I think Bailey's upside is still enough that he'll end up number 2, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Demin pass Harper for #3...especially if Harper's 3pt shooting continues to trend in the 30% range.
And yeah, after at least a decade of small ball in the backcourt, that starting 5 you list would be pretty fun to watch and a HUGE relief.
