I am worried that if Denver is able to get AG that they will be firmly ahead of us. With Jokic's passing ability I can see Gordon just punishing opposing teams. I will be really disappointed if we don't get him.

Anyone who can move positively the defensive rebounding percentage. That is the biggest weakness this season (and last). Not only does poor defensive rebounding mean more opponent shots, it means better ones on the second shots when the defense is in scramble mode. Still right now two good defensive rebounders are on the injured list and for months no replacements were brought in to shore up this obvious and significant weakness. Further, if Giles can't help, due to his other flaws, then cut him and get someone who can.

I would have no qualms with cutting Giles for a big that can actually bring at least one trait other than hustle that they do at an above average level. Giles is trying, but I just dont think he is cut out for this league.

Vooch to CHI.
Looks like ORL is finally ready to rebuild.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

It also sounds like Chicago is looking to move Markannen. I'd kick the tires on him if the price is right but he does have a lot of overlap with Melo

I would prepare yourself then. I just don't have a good feeling about this deadline for Portland.

I really like Collins. I think it would be a good move to retain him for cheap this off-season. However, if he's needed for salary matching for a guy like Gordon, I'll help pack his bags at this point. Let alone involving him in a trade for a Harden level player. This team needs to pony up and build a competitive roster, or move Lillard a la Harden and start over. We tried for a few years but we never hit well enough in the draft to change the team's trajectory. It's time to move stuff and picks for better stuff, unless the team isn't serious about competing in Lillard remaining prime.

The fact that Lillard is a premier pick and roll player and outside of Nurkic the team hasn't had a single other high level pick and roll partner since Plumlee left is inexcusable.

I thought his career was gonna be pretty similar to Leonard when he was drafted and so far, I think I was kinda proven right about that (aside from the racism). Better defender obviously than Meyers, but both nowhere close to their potential and both massively injury prone.

I think he's probably worth nothing more than his contracts value at this point. He'll keep bouncing around the league and maybe he'll have a few decent + healthy years, but beyond that... :/

I've yet to see the appeal of Gordon. He has the potential to be a massive impact player - but we've also been saying that since he was drafted... when a player hasn't lived up to that potential by this point in his career, he's probably just never going to get there. I think he's topped out at just a decent roll player.

This trade deadline is kinda boring. The power-shifting trade has already happened when the Rockets sent Harden to the Nets. All the rest of this stuff is just kinda shuffling of the deck for everyone. A couple of teams may drop into full rebuild mode (Orlando), but that's about it.

With Boston trading for Fournier its looking more possible to get AG. Unless they are doing a 2-step deal that uses the TPE for Evan and salary/assets for AG.

I think AG is making it clear that he doesnt want to swap one bad team (ORL) for another (MIN) so to me it may come down to DEN and PDX. They can offer Harris and a FRP, we have a much more diverse set of assets on the table.

Getting "Smart" does not make sense as ORL appears in full rebuild mode, now rerouting him or flipping him to a 3rd team would make more sense IMO

Looks like Denver is the favorite to acquire AG :-?

The latest on Aaron Gordon
Per a league source, the Blazers, rumored to have strong interest in Aaron Gordon, have fallen out of the sweepstakes. The smart money is ow on the Nuggets adding Gordon to their roster along with their acquisition earlier Thursday of JaVale McGee, per league sources.

I just hope its not the Coby White for GTJ trade the Bulls board thinks it is. All that would do is move the
restricted free agency window back one year, while doing nothing to improve the team
