Let's be honest for a minute .. unless KP can pull a trade for James ,Kobe , Durant or Howard is there really a player who can save his job. This is not about what he has or has not done .. i applaud KP for not throwing in the towel and mailing it in but his efforts will be for nothing if the ultimate goal is to impress Paul so he can save his job.

Lol at the hints given. It seems like the player has been mentioned, positively, and competed in junior high track and field. The LeBron reference went over my head, though V.I. seemed to think the player was smaller than LeBron height-wise...

Maybe the answer was yes..... which was much too obvious so he simply stated he had no idea about their junior high track and field days.

A Monty/CP3 pipe dream.

Why did Rudy have to suck this year? He could have been helpful in these trade talks (and why did he always have to whine about how he wants to/is going back home to Spain).

Bayless may have some value, but being a tweener guard hurts. However, one cannot necessairly look past his playoff performace, even if it was the Suns defense, he was still impressive.

Batum goes without saying, probably the most potential out of the 3 mentioned, but if it is for a HUGE name player you do it. You don't do it for someone like Parker or Iggy.

I would be interested to know if the players name has been mentioned yet.

Or in an effort to keep the big 3 (Roy, Aldridge, Oden), what about dangling Batum as the center piece for Parker? Wasn't San Antonio high on Batum coming out of the draft before we jumped ahead of them to pick Batum? Plus, with Jefferson pretty much being awful, the Spurs could use an SF IMO. So would somehting like Batum, Miller, and Pryzbilla and perhaps draft picks if needed work for Parker and if needed a scrub salary wise? I know losing Batum sucks, but it turns the big 3 into the big 4. Would people do this? Would you guys prefer to trade Aldridge instead ? Or would you prefer to look elsewhere altogether?

I think the proper question to ask TBPup is how many times this "star" has been to the all-star game. Once he gives us a number then we work it out from there. ;)

What about Andre Miller + Przybilla + 22 + 2011 1st for Monta Ellis + Brendan Wright?

Post this on the trade board please :)

Is the player a male and if so does he have hair or is it Charlie Villenueva?

If this rumored deal is completed and this "star" we get, whomever it may be, comes to the Blazers iwhat is your opinion on the matter? Is it someone who can A. Help us get out of the first round and then B. help us potentially be Championship contenders? Can you give your opinion on that or does that have to be confidential as well?

I think almost anyone would believe they would help make this team better. You always wonder about 'fit' and chemistry but Rodman and Artest now have 4 rings between them so that seems a bit overrated. Not saying this player is anything like those two knuckleheads by any means.

The quip about not knowing how many medals he won in junior high on track and field day was just tongue-in-cheek. I have no idea whether he ran track or not. Someone had just asked if he had a gold medal and I was attempting levity. :P

And
Walton's Beard!...it is not Charlie Villenueva.

No Charlie V, OK that narrows it down.

Now I will pour fuel on the fire. This is an excerpt from ESPN's NBA rumors page this morning:

"The Grizzlies want to upgrade the point guard position and the newspaper reports they have interest in the Hornets Chris Paul and Darren Collison. All teams have been told that they must also take back either Peja Stojakovic (one year, $15.3 million), Emeka Okafor (four years, $48 million) or James Posey (two years, $13 million) if they want to acquire one of the point guards."

We need NO KG AI to come in here and lay the wood down.

CP3? Perhaps available? OH SNAP!

Walton's Beard!.... Yes....I saw that too. Interesting that Memphis would be interested in taking on so much salary. That kind of goes against their usual modus operandi.

Remember back when Portland was rumored to be involved in discussions with the Wizard around Butler and/or Haywood etc and maybe even taking on someone like Arenas' contract where we would also get their draft pick for taking on salary? The hold up to that was two things. KP couldn't guarantee Paul that taking on so much salary would put them in the Finals...and Nicolas Batum. Now I love Nicolas but in hindsight, with the way the lottery worked out, that would have had the Blazers drafting John Wall.

It seems like Nicolas may be the asking price again along with larger contracts. I'm as big a fan of Nicolas as the next guy and am hesitant to let him go in almost any deal. My understanding is that may be what holds this up again.

Given his defensive ability, his length, his improved shooting, the reports he is working on his post game and his what I believe is unused ability to help handle the ball, who would you give him up for if that was the asking price?

I would be willing to trade Nic for Chris Paul, of course. But not for Collison.

I would be willing to trade anyone for the right deal.

But, I wouldn't mind if they did nothing. Oden,LMA, Batum, Roy, Bayless has the potential to be a long term contender. Oden has to be healthy and Nic and Bayless have to continue to develop. But that is a good, balanced team.

But, I also understand if PA feels a sense of urgency with his health issue.s

JD45....you hit it right on. I believe that is what is driving a lot of this 'shake up' with coaches and potentially players etc.

I didn't hear anything about the Wizards pick being involved

in any event, at that time the Wizards were already in full tank mode so if they would have traded their pick, it's pretty certain it would have come with some protection. The Blazers likely would not have received any Wizards pick this year

Nash - NO
Iggy - NO
Parker - NO
G. Wallace - probably
Bosh - probably, although Aldridge + Przybilla + Batum is a high price
Collison - NO
CP3 - Yes
Granger - NO

I guess I'm surprised at the lack of respect someone like Danny Granger gets. Here is a kid that is 27 years old, has averaged 23 ppg the last three seasons, is shooting over 38% from 3-pt range during that time, 85% FT, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.2 assists, 1 block...that is Brandon Roy type numbers or better in almost every category except assists.
