His comparison is Gerald Wallace.

It’d be pretty ironic if we got a younger Gerald Wallace alongside the superstar we acquired with the pick we got from Gerald!

this really looks like the kind of draft the Blazers should buy a 2nd if it can be in the 30's

how many young guys do we want?

If they can play does it matter if they are young? The best way Portland can add top talent is the draft so if we have the chance to add a talented player I take it

That's ridiculous. He will never be traded for Lillard.

I like the pick for two reasons, one is obvious, it seems like he was the BPA, played a position of need and the team was probably legit shocked to find him at 25. The other reason, assuming other teams had liked him but passed on him for other reasons like picking need over BPA, he may be a decently valuable add-in for a deal later this summer.

I completely agree. We have an almost impossible time attracting top tier FAs to Portland so we are forced to build primarily through the draft.
Excuse me please, one more drink

For what it's worth, Kevin Pelton had Nassir as his #15th best ranked prospect in this draft - which means next to nothing other than he probably just didn't know how to rank him so he stuck him in the middle.

Looks like Bol Bol should have stayed at Oregon. Teams must be afraid of his durability. Of course, if he got hurt again, that could backfire and solidify his status.

I see lots of drafts that had him at 12-13.

Yeah, so I mean, if you can get a back half of the lottery guy late in the 1st round, I would say you take that every day.

Somebody give me a comp for taking a highly rated prep who shows nothing in particular at the college level. Is there an example of a guy like that becoming a solid NBA player?

Westbrook was pretty mediocre in college. He was considered a pretty big reach by the then-Sonics they they took him.

How big are his hands? If he has big hands, we know he's a stud.
