That would be true, but most of the FA's that could help either team are gone by now. By taking so long to make their intentions clear, they're losing out on FA's just as much as Portland is.

As I said in a earlier post here, the whole Hibbert situation is really interesting when compared to the other primer RFA's this summer, Batum and Gordon. I just can't get a good read on it one way or another to be honest.

not really. Hibberts cap-hold is over 6 million less then the alleged max offer. And just like Portland with Batum, Indiana won't need cap-space to match Hibbert. They could be talking to free agents right now.

I guess Portland could be too, but it doesn't seem like it

Dragic is a better overall player than Hibbert imo.

I stopped reading after that, I just can't do it anymore. Just one last thing it doesn't matter what you think, the GM has made it very clear that he will be our starting PG.

The Pacers definitely don't want to be tax payers though, so they need to be cautious about how they use their money, particularly with other players needing extensions in coming years. So they don't have the luxury of going on a wild spending spree and then just freely matching Hibbert. They have to be more judicious.

I'm not trying to say they won't match. My gut still says they do, but I can see why they might still be undecided. It's really not a cut and dry situation like with Gordon and Batum.

This is just such a hard situation to get a read on.

Considering what he did once he got the starting job I don't think that's too out of the question. Frankly I think his ceiling is higher than Hibbert's too. Roy is just another overhyped big man that quite frankly, Indy will match. He's a waste of our time and to go towards a UFA like Dragic would be far more productive imo.

Um 12/9 is 12/9 compared to 17/9. You don't get to re-write the laws of the universe to suit your otherwise ill conceived opinion. And I'm confused, where exactly are you getting 17/9? You're on the record as saying you don't consider per 36 a relevant stat, so why do you keep saying 17/9 and Dragic in the same sentence? Dragic averaged 11.7 and 5.3. There you go contradicting yourself and making things up again.

Not to mention when I put up there advanced stats that showed Hibbert is in contention with those other C's for the 3 best center spot he doesn't say anything but when someone puts up a PER 36 he tells them they are wrong..smh

No. He just said he called him, he was having brunch with his family, so he couldn't talk, but they texted back and forth. He tried to get Hibbert to do an interview, but for obvious reasons Hibbert declined for right now. About the biggest news that came out of it was the Hibbert was "an awesome dude and totally gracious".

I don't know what's so ridiculous about the notion that Dragic can be a better player than Hibbert and probably is right now. You don't have to agree with me on that but I don't think its too ridiculous to say Dragic is better either. My stance from early along is that Hibbert would be an ok signing but I thougth people would start acting as if he's the second coming of god once their team made him a max offer. Frankly I'm done arguing the Dragic Hibbert issue considering that it doesn't seem like we're gonna agree on this one.

Right, because Hibbert declining to do an interview is someone failing you.

Jesus, people are so **** spoiled. Our local sports media are awful, but come on, what a silly thing to complain about.

It's ridiculous on multiple levels. For starters you're seriously comparing a first time all star CENTER to a FULL TIME BACKUP POINT GUARD. "lol"

Explain to us how Dragic is better. Let's see your logical rational fact backed line of reasoning.

What were Dragic's offense and defensive ratings in the playoffs? Because I have Hibbert's right here, and defensively he was insanely good. Oh, and from a raw statistical production standpoint he was superior to Dragic. How about per, FIC, pace adjusted stats, etc.

Come on, you've been talking your guy up for so long now that I'm sure you've got the numbers to back up your opinion, even if you have to cherry pick, right?

You haven't argued anything. You haven't provided any sound reasoning to support your opinion. All you've done is make ridiculous statements regarding the players we drafted and the FA offer to Hibbert. All hyperbole and no substance. Detail for us exactly why you have come to your conclusions.

But you can't do any of that, can you? This isn't an argument, this is you making a fool of yourself. "knife to a gunfight" and all that.

Knock it off, stop attacking Oden2 and attack his argument. You can do one without the other.

Seriously? That was a personal attack and NOT an attack on his argument?

I'm sooooooo sorry for saying he is making a fool of himself. Go ahead and ignore the entirety of my post that calmly dissected his post with NOTHING personal.

Is this seriously the level of PC care bear hand holding that these boards have been reduced to? Everybody's a winner! OH NO RED FONT!!

Cool it, Car. Among the forum rules, the first one after posting in the correct forum says this:

Your post, in TSE's and my judgment, was not respectful and it was abusive. Consider yourself formally warned.

I'm more of a fan of Tycho Brahe myself. Recent evidence suggests that he poisoned himself with mercury from his many prosthetic noses he used to cover up for the real nose he had sliced off in a duel.

And for the record, I agree with Caravaggio that Hibbert is a much more impactful player than Dragic. But folks, we're here to discuss and not to attack.

Quick was on 750 briefly this morning. He said that the Blazers feel they're going to get Hibbert for whatever that's worth.
