Re: Bring LaMarcus Home
I really think it was stupid to actually use our draft pick. We could have used it in a trade for some bench help or to get a taller SF(no offense to Hart, he played great for us and rebounds like a F). We could have gotten a 1st for next year, which if we sucked, then we can use it to shape our future team along with Simons, Johnson, brown, Watford, and whoever else. Plus I honestly think we could have traded down and got Sharpe anyway this year. But I guess it is what it is. I know that if we do make the playoffs, it'll be as a 7-8 seed.
Defense and rebounding wins games

Re: Bring LaMarcus Home
With Lillard on the team and with the moves done (amid the tank jobs and hype for some), the Blazers are a playoff team. Bringing in LMA or another veteran BIG fits a playoff run. [I do expect an incoming big by the trade deadline.]
In hindsight — but without the benefit of seeing what Sharpe is and will be on an NBA court — the Sharpe pick is UNIQUE. The opportunity at #7 (even falling by a spot … and even not getting the 2nd lottery pick) to get a TOP pick from next year’s draft a year early is TOO GOOD to pass up. It is going for it in no uncertain terms.
The early comments from Simons and Lillard … along with the comments that trickle out … about Sharpe are uniformly positive. And not in that courteous, encouraging kind of way. They’re more like what Lillard early on praised in Simons.
It’s why I like the idea of LMA. Making the playoffs isn’t the goal — the 2nd round or deeper is.

Greg Brown’s activity isn’t yet accomplishment. If he was 6’9 or 6’10, I’d hope for some version of Robert Williams III. With Watford, Walker and Eubanks, he needs opportunity elsewhere … a trade into a small exception
… and along with Keon Johnson to Boston for Pritchard. The Celtics have their PG’s and the Blazers could use a true PG who hits from 3, has grit, and is unselfish.
LMA then has a spot both to work with Portland bigs and be ready for the playoffs.

Re: Bring LaMarcus Home
I saw a tweet from Mike Barrett that showed a bunch of checkmarks with LA tagged and "career" was checked... I think he's retired officially (quietly), but I think he's done.
Get ready to learn Chinese buddy... #YangBang
