Grant and Turner are more than role players. I would argue Grant is a star and has been the best player on the blazers this year and Turner can go for 30/12/5/2/3 any given night. They can be stars on bad teams or be 2nd 3rd or even 4th options on elite teams. Hart is obviously a role player but much in the way that Draymond is. You pay these guys with the intention of getting a ring. Personally I'd rather pay these 3 than getting a second and third "big 3" making all max money. Jody could sign all these guys if she wanted to is all I was saying and not signing them doesn't get you closer to a chip. Sign them, pay the tax, go for the ring. Just do it Jody.

I see the points made about ball handling and passing but Turner is a very good passer, better than Nurkic. He also provides more spacing. His biggest fault is rebounding and probably screening which is what we depend so heavily on Nurkic for, so you gamble on what gives you the better net positive in that trade off.

Simons can obviously create for himself but he's a black hole so I'm not so sure replacing him with a shooter isn't a positive in the sense that you would ideally get more passing and ball movement looking for open shooters as opposed to driving on 2 or 3 defenders and putting up bricks like we saw against Dallas. Dallas on the other end was doing exactly what I'm suggesting. They were moving the ball and finding open shooters which won them the game. It's a situational problem. Sometimes you need a guy other than Dame who can create for himself especially in clutch minutes.

Like I said, maybe move Simons in a separate deal for a wing or a 4?

Bit of a trap game here, glad the Blazers took this team seriously at least somewhat. The Spurs were able to get a lot of easy buckets in the paint which was concerning.
