That’s probably it, at best. And which of these teams would would actually want him? None? And if they did what would we get in return? Nothing that’s an upgrade.

The only way we trade Nurkic is in a bigger deal where the other team is trading equally bad salary back

Pretty sure Dallas would want him

They have Wood, Powell, McGee, Kleber, and Bertans.

1.) I don’t think they’d rather have Nurkic than Wood.

How much is Dallas going to give up for a Center that isn’t going to start or will play limited minutes when they have bigger problems on their roster and limited resources? At best they’d trade Bertans for him straight up.

What about a 3 team deal:
Grant+Nurkic+Hart

Brooklyn
Grant +Nurkic

NY
Hart

PDX
Ben Simmons + Hartenstein +Reddish + one of Brooklyn's picks

Idea based on Grant turning down contract extension offer.

Blazers aren't doing anything. If they do, it will be something trivial like pick up a veteran on a minimum contract after he passes waivers. Or pick up a Cousins/Whiteside/Kanter type player when Nurkić eventually injures himself. That's what happens when you're trying to run the company as a business, are right up against the luxury tax, trade a pick with protections for the next decade for a 37 game Larry Nance Jr. rental, trade away young players like Gary Trent Jr., etc.
Because love can burn like a cigarette.
And leave you left with nothing.

Im going to put on my realistic hat and not my wishful hat.

I doubt they do a whole lot, but I think they'll send Hart somewhere cuz they can't afford to resign him.

If they can find a taker for Nurkic, I think they do it and include a little filler to make it work. Of course, they need a center in return.

Despite Grant turning down the extension offer and not producing consistently, I don't think they move him. He is part if the future.

I bet there's teams who would use him as a heavy minutes reserve

Those guys would help some teams for sure but all depends on what it would take to acquire them.

Blazers have 7 games before the trade deadline, 3 on the road. Only two of those games are against teams way up in the standings, at Memphis on 2/1 and home vs. Milwaukee 2/6.

If they can gain some ground in the standings over these 7 games, maybe they're not sellers.

Grants inconsistency just means we need a backup/6th man big man that brings in the production when Jerami or Nurk wanna throw 3-5 pts on the board that night. Can we get John Collins to be that guy?

It would look like a big, fat, no **** way from Toronto.

Grant doesn't fit their time line, doesn't give them anything they don't already have and has turned down 4 years at $28 million/yr. OG is three years younger, better, locked up longer on a better contract. POR would have to include 3 first round picks, which they can't really do. TOR will get much better offers.

Anyone paying 3 frps for that guy is nuts. I doubt og ever makes an all star game even. Hart Is about as good as og honestly there's no way I'd do that 3 frp insanity heck even 1 is pushing it if unprotected

Turner signed for an extension that is basically 30M AV.

Grant passed on 28M AV.

I think Turner is worth about 8M AV more than Grant due to scarcity.

Grant is going to be a big regret for someone, hope it isn’t us.

The Audacity of turning down 112 million dollars for 4 years of doing nothing but chucking. Toronto shut Dame down pretty good and gave Grant and Simons the chance to beat them and they failed miserably. Grant thinks he's getting 200 million from someone lmao, ok, have fun dude.

Unfortunately if anyone gives him that money it’ll be portland. To me that negates any good cronin has done he should be fired instantly if that contract happens

How good would Achiuwa look in Portland?
I would target him instead of OG. Not sure about the cost but Hart going our in a 3 team with Keon + capital headed to Toronto might make some real sense

Achiuwa is like 23 and TOR doesnt have many guys that can play C. I dont see any reason for them to move him for assets, only in a consolidation that brings a better talent.

For Hart I would look at something like Danny Green + Roddy or Zaire or LaRavia + MEM FRP. Might have to toss a SRP to MEM, but I think that is the type of move that we could make w/ Hart. Avoid paying him - and move Grant in another deal to avoid paying him as well.

Something a bit creative -

Grant for Hield + Smith + 23 BOS FRP
Hart for Green + LaRavia + MEM FRP
Simons + Nurkic for JI + WCJ

G - Damian Lillard / Gary Payton JR
G - Buddy Hield / Shadeon Sharpe
F - Nas Little / Jake LaRavia
F - Jonathan Isaac / Jalen Smith
C - Wendell Carter JR / Drew Eubanks

Like that as a retool - avoid paying big deals to Hart and Grant - get a shooter in Buddy that would play well off Dame, nice prospect in Jake and Jalen, 2 late FRP's and turn Simons and Nurkic into height and speed down low.

I have been firmly against trading Ant and breaking up our future back court. However a buddy in Orlando said he heard a rumor...
Ant+Watford
4
Suggs+WCJ
I like a Sharpe +Suggs future backcourt enough that I would be okay with it...
