btw, the mavs commentators are very classy.
suckage is empirically measured by losses. Those three teams "combined" have 113 losses. Portland has 23.
you suck at logic...

it is kind of funny
There is a quote from from BBF.net that I think fits a lot of blazer fans mentality:

If we had sucked like everyone expected how would all the people freaking out react then? Would you be excited after a win and be like "LOOK AT THE PROGRESS, LOOK AT THE SIGNS OF IMPROVEMENT". Well you should be here. You should understand that this is a young team, one that has hit the wall, one that is missing the direction of the second unit leader (Jones).
The amount people are getting down on LaMarcus baffles me. He didn't play a full season last year, he is getting 35 minutes or so a game this year. And he's missed what, five games? He's going against some of the premiere players in the entire league each game. You didn't think it was going to be rough the first and second year he did this? Especially at extended minutes?
We knew he had a thin body coming in last year, yet look at the muscle he has added if you look from last year to this year. You don't think it'll improve next year as well? You don't think his post play has improved this year?
Sorry, but he's not a LeBron and can't come in and dominate right away. He doesn't have the body yet nor is he that kind of player.
What you should be happy about is to realize he will fit perfectly next to Oden, he will get a lot less attention next year and will be able to get the loose rebounds because they'll be focusing on Oden. Just like he did last year when Randolph and Magloire were in there with him, he was able to hit the offensive boards because they were busy boxing out the bigger, stronger guys.

Makes me even more mad at Comcast...seems like all the games that I've actually able to WATCH on TV lately have sucked
These games just make me anxious to see how good Oden really is. Hopefully he can fix a lot of the problems we're seeing lately, particularly defensive rebounding. It's just disheartening to watch the opposing team pull down 5 straight offensive rebounds. But I'm still not sold on Oden magically fixing all the problems. I want to see what he looks like in a real NBA game or two (or 50) first before I make a judgment one way or the other.
Anyway, I'm so glad the all-star break is here. It couldn't have come at a better time for the Blazers, honestly...

Oden will help some on rebounding and
help on the defensive (especially after
a few seasons when he learns) but youre
right, Oden will NOT magically fix the team.
I hope no one is thinking he will.. .
Dont get me wrong tho, he'll be a difference maker.

Yeah, I agree Mr. Odd. I hope nobody thinks I'm tryin to be negative or anything... I know Oden is the freakin #1 pick in a --deep-- draft (I still can't believe we won the lottery!!!) so it's gonna be HUGE to have him. And I also agree that it'll take a while for him to learn everything. I just think there are other things that the team is gonna have to fix in the future

I have such mixed feelings about this team after watching their past several games. They're young and exceeding expectations for the season, but lately they've regressed to the team we knew last year. This time it seems everyone is playing timid and relying on Roy to carry the scoring load, instead of Zach. The aggressiveness and ball movement are gone and what is so frustrating is that we know these guys are capable of, but they haven't been showing it for the past few weeks.

Yeah, he won't fix the team magically. He will fix the team with amazing size, athleticism, aggression, and competitive desire. It will be like adding a 7' player that has many of the same qualities as Brandon Roy. But, nothing will happen magically.
Edit: I forgot to add a 7' 270 pounder with the skillset of a guard.

Yup--nothing magic about that. Scarcity, maybe, but not magic.
