I think McCollum would be a good fit next to Lillard. McCollum is not a PG and needs someone else who can handle the ball a bit. I think they'd be pretty lethal on offense together because McCollum moves pretty well without the ball.

Those two on defense.....

Lillard's defense was not nearly as bad as many believe

He got a bit lazy at times when playing on the ball and in pick & roll situations. He would stand up on defense and get a step or two behind the opposition. You could make the point though that having a guy like McCollum who can take some workload and minutes from Lillard would help because then Lillard would have more energy on the defensive end.

Short response though; it's more about effort than skill for Lillard on defense.

Very Impressive, Victor is one of those players you can count on to improve his game.

The Wade comparisons are rediculous but I really like him as a prospect.

McCollum and Lillard would be a small back court. Matthews isn't all that big either, but he's a bit bigger and has a good build to body up bigger players.

As of today, before workouts, interviews, and measurements Victor would be my choice hands down with the number one pick. His dedication and work ethic to basketball reminds me a lot of guys like Lillard, Durant, and Kobe. Relentless.

Liking the idea of trading down for a defensive center (Dieng / Adams)

Posted this draft day trade idea on the bucks board: 15th and Gustavo Ayon for the 10th.

I'm hoping that we can somehow get Oladipo (and perhaps Dieng, too, depending upon what else Olshey has in mind to fill the center position) in the draft!

Fun video. Love the dual basketball dribbling skills, crossing over, etc.

Oladipo would be a great fit next to Lillard. I think for the most part though we all agree that he's seeing a Westbrook like rise into the top 5 and possibly top 3 so it's gonna be difficult to obtain him.

Funny you mention Westbrook... 'cause that's definitely one player that Oladipo reminds me of, except that I think he has a MUCH better head on his shoulders & a better perimeter shot than Westbrook. He also reminds me quite a bit of Wesley Matthews, but he has better ball-handling skills and is simply in another class in terms of athleticism, in comparison to Wesley. Not saying his 'ceiling' quite up there with Westbrook--then again I don't think ANYBODY thought that Westbrook would be *this good* when he was drafted--but I definitely think his 'floor' is considerably higher than a player of Matthews' caliber. In other words, I see a lot of similarities between Oladipo & Westbrook, as well as between Oladipo & Matthews, but certainly neither are a "perfect" comparison (they almost never are) for Victor.

Here's to hoping Olshey can pull off a draft day miracle and get Oladipo (and, to a lesser extent, Dieng)... I think that'd be a huge step in the right direction for this franchise's rebuilding efforts. Pair that with a couple of key signings in free agency (with center being the obvious priority) & I think we could be a dramatically different team next season.

I don't think Portland has a prayer of getting Oladipo. I haven't even been considering the possibility.

I'm with you. I haven't even considered him since he will be long gone. Shabazz or Caldwell-Pope is Portland's consolation prize for picking #10 if it is indeed a shooting guard they go for.

But I certainly don't have a clue what position they'll be drafting other than knowing one of the four or five big centers will most likely be getting very long looks to see if one of them is a better way to go than signing a veteran.

But I think anything and everything is going to be on the table on draft day. There's a number of holes that need to be filled over focussing too tightly on one thing.

Why can't we trade up for Oladipo? If Olshey really falls in love with him like he did with Damian I think 10 and Wesley Matthews could move us up into the top 5.

I dunno that Matthews improves the #10 pick to #5 pick. I love Wesley and think he gets horrendously underrated on RealGM (not so much by Blazer fans), but I don't know that he can command that much of a jump.

Bet Len falls to us now that he's having surgery. Would anybody here still draft him? Why/Why Not?

I wasn't a big fan of Len before, even less so now.

My problem with him is... what is his strength? What will he hang his hat on in the NBA? Statistically he does not stand out in any category, and I keep hearing about poor BBIQ, work ethic and defense.

Add ankle problems, which from personal experience, can be chronic and never be quite right again. A stress fracture is even a bit more worrisome than a freak accident, especially if you expect the guy to gain mass to handle the NBA.

Nope, nope and nope again. Big pass from this guy.

I wasn't a fan of Len at all either. His stats should be great when he was clearly the biggest, most dominant player. IMO that's never a good sign(Meyers). He never passed the eye test for me either. I'd have to really try and find him during Maryland games, he just never stood out.
