I still want to avoid dealing Harkless at (nearly) all costs. If NYK is enamored with him, and if there is smoke likely there is fire, then demand a insane return. After dealing Crabbe, its by no means a total necessity to move anyone for salary savings.

I'll call my shot now....

Portland Out - Harkless, Vonleh, Leonard
Portland In - Gordon, Ariza

New York Out - Melo
New York In - Harkless, Vonleh, Leonard, 2nd rd pick

Houston Out - Gordon, Ariza, 2nd rd pick, Bunch of non guaranteed contracts to either team
Houston In - Melo

Lillard/ Napier
McCollum/ Gordon/ Connaughton
Ariza/ Turner/ Layman
Aminu/ Swanigan
Nurkic/ Davis/ Collins

*Though I do hope they stand pat, and hold onto Harkless and Vonleh

B0naf1d3 Knew Crabbe was gone - that was the TPE he listed. His deal sounds plausible - though I think Olshey and Gordon have a history so he may swing Lee to Houston and take Gordon (O for D). Either way this would be a terrific turn of events from the doldrums we have envisioned.

With Crabbe gone, all of a sudden Lee could be the key target for us if we are facilitating a Melo trade. I'd be stoked if we could turn Turner into Courtney Lee.

Turning Turner into Lee would balance this team so, so much. It would likely take more though.

Just keep your hands off my Harkless.

Lillard and CJ will still be under a reasonable contract. Maybe Nurkic has proven himself and has signed a 4 year deal and would still be under contract. We might have an opportunity to make a trade for a good player with those 3 bad contracts to add to that core.

Would prefer Lee. I know Gordon got off to a great start and ended up winning sixth man last year but, looking at his numbers a bit, he was terrible after the first two months of the season. Shooting less than 40%, less than 35% from 3, and he doesn't bring much else to the team.

True, Olshey does tend to value his guys from the past pretty highly. I'd rather have Gordon as well, but his past knee issues scare me a bit. He did look healthy last year and was a great scoring punch off the bench, a role he would be asked to do in Portland. Lee is a good player, I think he'd fit onto virtually any team, so either is fine by me. The Ariza + Gordon/Lee scenario just makes more sense than any Anderson scenario, especially if we are giving up Harkless. Now if Aminu and Leonard were going out i'd consider taking back Anderson. Sounds like the Knicks want to bring Harkless home though. Should be interesting to see where these rumored discussions end up.

In a way, I wouldn't mind seeing a move where we get Ryan Anderson and a little more cap flexibility. Then, maybe target Ian Clark.

Some solid all around good vets like Lee and Ariza would sure help this young team. I'd be game for such a trade especially if Meyers is on the way out.

If the Crabbe trade was only made to make getting Ryan Anderson i am going to be demanding we take back Crabbe. Only way i want to see Ryan Anderson in Portland is playing for the visiting team plain and simple.

Portland out : Harkless and Turner
Portland in: Ryan Anderson and Ariza
Houston out: Anderson and Ariza
Houston in: Anthony
NY out: Anthony
NY in: Harkless and Turner

Anderson's contract sucks but so does Turner' s, so which one has more value as a contributer?Ariza only has one year left on his deal and is still a very solid player that would fit in nice at the 3, however, it would suck having to give up Harkless (maybe we could make it Aminu instead). If Anthony will only go to Houston then maybe we could get them to take Aminu instead of Harkless.

I like Ariza. I just really wish he had more than one year left

I would accept Anderson on basis of Turner going out, yes. That's fine. Of course Portland would have a severe hole at backup SG then, but, one step at a time, I guess.

Wasn't this 3-4 team deal supposed to come to light 5 hours ago?

You cannot stand Ariza ?? -- i can understand not liking a star player like Draymond Green or something like that but Ariza -- What did he do to you -- Kick your dog or something ? Refuse to sign something for you -- LOL

I think I would prefer Ariza and Lee to Gordon and Ariza. They're the prototypical 3 and D players this team really needs. Gordon hit over 200 3's last year which is awesome, but he doesn't play defense and his history of injuries are super scary.

Thing that sucks about Ariza is I still remember him doing this to Rudy Fernandez..

Rudy was never the same after this.

I've yet to see a trade between these three teams that is palatable for us. I guess Fritz gets pretty close with Harkless and Myers going out (no reason for us to send out Noah Vonleh) and Gordon and Ariza coming back. Tarik Black would need to go out from Houston to New York as well.
