The face of someone miserable that a team matched.

Then trade him. Of course he does have an NTC so you will need his approval on destination.

My post was meant to be sarcasm. He's clearly fine here and any talk that he was disappointed with getting matched was clearly just his agent trying to get more public digs in on the Blazers FO because of the Dame situation since Goodwin represents both players.

Sorry, the image didn't appear for me earlier and with earlier reports about his desire to be in Dallas and what has been happening with Dame I didn't catch the sarcasm.

For all we know, this was exactly the deal (player option included), we agreed with Grant to get him to sit out for the tank in the period before his free agency.

We very well may not have gotten Scoot if it wasn't for Grant's deal, as we only needed to win 2 more games for our odds to change reasonably significantly.

I doubt it but maybe. Grant would've gotten paid decent money either way everyone knew what Portland was doing

I'm not sure there's a lot to doubt tbh. If Portland had the #4 pick, there's a near zero chance that we would have drafted Scoot.

I was getting at Grant would have been rested anyhow and teams wouldn't have faulted grant for Portlands tank job

Harry Giles is making a comeback and would be a nice vet minimum signing.

Portland almost certainly would have drafted Amen Thompson at 4

KZ Oakpala and Moses Brown would be nice little vet minimum signings.

Ya Garuba is pretty easily the best C option that is even remotely avaliable. I think the smoke is that OKC has not long term interest in him or TyTy - I bet we could get him using the TPE.

I like Destiny okay, especially if the price is right...he has potential as a do-it-all big, and is really young. He's undersized IIRC though, so the Blazers will still have a need for a rim-protecting/running 7 footer if Nurkic goes bye-bye.

I think Dame and Miami are stalling our free agency moves because we have no idea who is going out and coming in. It's hard to sign free agents when we were not 100% sure what their needs are or assuming they would even want to sign here.

Ya, but I really dont think we find that guy this season - even if Dame expands his teams I dont really see that guy being on the table.

I say just deal with a full undersized C rotation for a year and figure out a long term fit next offseason.

Even somebody as a placeholder would be good...doesn't have to be the long-term guy. Is there anybody even on the roster 6'11" or taller, lol?
Luckily, there are a few of those drifting around...

I think SAS likely dumps one of Bassey or Barlow - I would pick whomever they cut up and simply run w/ him and Garuba.
