a Dame trade?

No, it would lead to a draft pick trade. Either trade down or trade out.

It would be interesting though if Scoot's 2023 pre-draft workout was tremendous. If his workout
suggests he will be a franchise PG, most teams would make room for him.

Think about who the teams who likely be at 3 from the Spurs, Rockets, PIstons or Magic.
One of these teams would be picking at 1 to get Victor but which of the remaining teams be
willing to offer anything worthwhile in a trade down?

The only thing I can think of is if the Blazers got 2 and liked Scoot, I do wonder if it wouldn’t change Dame’s position of staying in Portland forever. He might see that as a gracious time to bow out knowing the team will have a new franchise player to build with at his position.

I suspect that’s unlikely, but something to think about.

As for trade downs, Rockets would make sense as they have a host of additional first round picks to package with their lower lottery pick. I would suspect that’s what a trade down deal would look like. Just moving down and getting a couple of additional future FRPs in the process.

the team ask Stotts to come back?

My sense is that the Stotts ship has sailed as long as Lillard is on the team. But who knows…I’d certainly prefer him over Chauncey.

The two coaches which seem like natural hires to me are Frank Vogel and Quin Snyder. Both have a proven track record of winning basketball from behind the clipboard, which is far more than what Billups has to offer. Of course, if CB is actually Lillard’s “guy” as has been reported? It’s probably all moot anyway…

Since Snyder is not available, who's #3 on your list?

Stoudamire just got a new job. Udoka is the obvious choice. I will be really disappointed if this team keeps Billups. He's had two seasons and has nothing to show for it.

The media storm hiring Ime wouldn’t make the hire worth it.

I was never a fan of Damon as a player and I am definitely not a fan of Damon as a coach.

I think it's hard to be a leader of others when you show extremely questionable leadership in getting involved with a subordinate/incredibly close coworker. And there's the whispers of whether he kept pursuing when being told to back off, etc.

Nets didn't hire him. Hawks didn't hire him. I think Ime's probably going to need to take a few years away or go back to the assistant ranks for a time to reassert himself and show this was a mistake he's learned from and won't repeat.
