I'd we trade #3 in a 3 person draft for an expiring and injury prone PG, who doesn't actually have a great playoff reputation anyway, I'll lose it.

Paul George has played 48, 54, 31 and 56 games in the last four regular seasons and is an expiring. Our organisation can't be stupid enough to trade #3 for him can it?

If it's Anfernee + #23 + a future pick (and salary balancing), I'm all onboard.

Nike HQ can open a few new positions for that.

with the latest rumors that Portland is really happy to draft Scoot, and Dame seemingly backing off of his rhetoric a little, it may very well be the only dust to settle this week is who Portland selects at #3

Some really interesting chatter coming out today. Still pretty smokey, but some things becoming clearer it would seem.

*I think all the talk of Miller going two is probably pretty solid at this point.
*Dame's "use the pick or trade me" demand rumors still seem potentially a little overly simplistic/overblown.
*Trade talks seem serious with New Orleans, but Portland's stance of being willing to just use and keep the pick seems genuine.

I think this probably is all leading up to the fact that any trade on draft day involving this pick will happen while the Blazers are on the clock or shortly after. If Scoot is there, Portland can just take him and continue to shop/negotiate after the pick and during the draft. There's no deadline for this having to be done before they pick in that 5min window after Charlotte picks. So my suspicion is that we will see the Blazers pick at 3 and pick Scoot, and a deal (if it happens), won't happen until after they have made the pick.

Pelicans if they want Scoot would likely have to pay a very high price in addition to Zion
to get him for Zion with his $160 million contract is negative value at this point

I still could see Ant + 23 being heavily shopped for the team desperately needs size up
front, that likely is not available in any quantity in this draft. Drew Eubanks is a free
agent and he might get a few offers the upcoming free agent market.

you could be right

I just happen to believe that the Blazers are extremely high on Scoot and believe they can add him and still do enough to keep Dame happy. And that it won't take a lot to keep Dame happy

probably won't be either; might be one; might even be both considering the Bulls are tearing it down and the Suns desperately need bodies:

Nurk + Little + Keon for Ayton

Ant + 23 for DeRozan

Dame covering all the bases. He's cool if we trade the pick for an impact player like Zion, but he's also ready to mentor Scoot if we keep the pick and take him at 3.

The ESPN clip talks about Dame and Zion being must see TV, but I'd also add Sharpe to that list. Assuming Zion can get in game shape, that would be a helluva fun team to watch!

Hopefully, if this happens, playing with a strong leader like Dame will motivate Zion to get back to where he was in 2020-21.

I would rather use the twenty-third to try to get Porzingis. It's incredibly frustrating to see Washington is trading him for essentially Amir Coffey (Who I am admittedly unfamiliar on to a degree) and the thirtieth.

Isn't Brodgan in that mix?

Brogdon is going to the Clippers in this deal. And Gallinari is going somewhere. There's no news on if the Celtics are adding in any compensation to the Wizards. Which means the Wizards, as constructed right now, would be trading Porzingis for Morris, Amir and the 30th. I just wish Portland would've tried to get in on trading for Porzingis if this is all it was going to take from the Wizards end.

KP is completely in control here.
If he doesn't like the trade situation, he opts out and is a FA. Wizards aren't willingly choosing this package. It's just better than the alternative (ie - nothing).

But we don't know if he would opt out or in. Rumors had been circulating for the last week he might opt in because of the guaranteed money.

Is Vucevic available? (again, I'm at work so I can't spend time looking him up). He's on the wrong side of 30, but still puts up numbers. He'd also be an upgrade over Nurkic...
